I think Benn is always given a chance because he was so dangerous when hurt - And Jones would hurt him at some point

Because he could easily crack that fragile Glass Jaw Roy had. It is pretty simple. Benn could fight.

Benn was a bonafide puncher probably the best during his time other than the G Man, but those hayemakers would of been target practice for a prime RJ. I think RJ would of been wary of his power, but RJ really did have his own ko power when he chose to fight and was way too fast for Benn. I think Toney would of beaten Benn also. Benn did good against guys that stood in front of him, but he struggled with boxers and movers like Eubanks.

Roy Jones toyed with and knocked in spectacular fashion out one Thulani Malinga (mentioned earlier in thread). The knockout blow was a leaping left hook, delivered while ducking beneath a Malinga punch. At various points in the fight, Roy was literally turning his back on Malinga and dancing around him for sport before pounding him with a series of incredibly fast hooks.

Same Thulani Malinga, 3 years later, defeated Nigel Benn in a close contest.

Thulani Malinga. The guy Roy was literally toying with and mocking in a preposterously easy KO victory.

The identical Thulani Malinga. Not Thulaini Malinga's superior namesake. Oh no, the same guy.

    It speaks for itself.

I invite anyone who thinks Nigel Benn could beat Roy Jones to watch:

then lets discuss how freakishly talented Roy was and together celebrate the fact that we have so much of it on tape.

Jones was a sharper puncher than McClelland was . Benn was knocked down by Dewitt and hurt by Barkley. Two good fighters, but not close to Jones. Jones would have stopped Benn in 6 or so.

If Benn gets beat by Eubank, he's gonna get beat by a faster, more powerful and just plain better boxer in RJJ.

Yeah? he should have fought him then. If it was gonna be such a cake walk he should have beat all of them and made a shitload of cash.

I do win. Malinga beat Benn, which reveals the talent gulf.

When Benn lost to Malinga it was hardly him at his best, for starters it must of been hard getting motivated for someone he had already beaten 4 years previous, also he lost something after the McClellan fight. I'm not saying he could beat Jones but if the fight could of been made within a year of the G-man fight, Benn had as good a chance has anyone of beating RJJ. You know he would of given everything.
It never happened and both had fine careers.
