All sports have athletes that get into trouble...But professinal boxing has always had many fighters who are in and out of jail frequently....On occassion, some for life......What are some working theories as to why this takes place..........:smoke.....................
mostly all from ghettos etc "you can take the man out the ghetto but you cant take the ghetto out the man"
Boxing is a poor mans sport. Most combats port are except for UFC. But regardless more then half of boxers come from the hood.
Yep. A lot come from a poor background, learned the "rules from the street", may have criminal friends who didn't make it in some kind of sports who are a bad influence. etc. etc.
I would say that to fighters like Valero and Kirkland. They bought that **** on themselves. Valero was a wild child..Kirkland was just stupid. He bought a gun from a gunshow is just stupid.
I would say its egual with other famous professions. If you compare famous boxers to the number of basketball players, football players, rappers, movie stars, etc. I'm betting they're about the same, or even less. Just to name a few: Michael Vick, Rae Carruth, O.J. Simpson, Darion Conner, Cole Corey, Joe Bruner, Sam Cassell, Ron Artest, Chris Webber, Dennis Rodman, Allen Iverson, T.I., Mystikal, C-Murder, C-Bo, X-Raided, Charlie Sheen, Wesley Snipes, Robert Downey Jr, Randy Quaid, Chris Klein, Lindsey Lohan, etc., etc. Do a little research and you'll probably see that boxers are tame when compared to the number of other famous rich people getting into trouble.
