Just because they don't have a bodybuilder's physique doesn't mean they don't train hard enough. That's a truly ignorant statement. They have different goals, and so they use different methods. On top of that, boxing training is more than just developing strength, power, and endurance. It's also about acquiring skill, sharpening reflexes, and honing the fighting instinct; things you don't acquire when you go bodybuilding. After all, boxers are the real athletes, while bodybuilders are simply beauty pageant contestants. Bodybuilders don't have to demonstrate any athletic abilities. So you can judge someone's abilities through their looks? The reason boxers don't do bodybuilding is that bigger muscles simply doesn't equate to being a better boxer. If you really think boxers don't train hard, you obviously don't know anything about boxing training.

He ate more than he burned during his workouts. It's simple arithmetic. Like I said, the guy can't lay off the rice and beans. It's lack of discipline and self-control on his part. But it doesn't necessarily mean he works any less than others.
Err no buddy. I'm one of those people who was muscular before they ever worked out, appearance is largely genetic and dependant on your body type. Some guys train like animals and will never look ripped while others will sit around playing PS3 and stay buff looking. The reason why this thread is so damn ******ed is because you equate bodybuilding to being in athletic shape. Bodybuilders have lots of hypertrophy of slow twitch fibres and don't train for functional movement. They don't train for speed, strength or power. Just size. Mike Tyson had his natural build and constantly worked on his speed, strength and power. His build wasn't the cause of his boxing success, that's just how he looks. You'll see boxers of all different shapes doing well.
Yup there all very toned and known for their stamina, going for bulk muscle in boxing is a bad idea a guy who's too built to comb his own hair I dont consider in shape at all.
In a way I don't think you quite understand. Guys like Pac, Mayweather, Martinez is the real definition of what a boxer should look like. They can't build way to much muscle because then they have to move up a weight class. I've lifted many years, but have boxed in that time period as well, and having both is a good thing. I see how unimportant things like bench press are when I can run circle around the guy, he's unflexible as could be, and slow as ****....But on the other hand I can see how bench pressing, and other heavy lifting can improve my power (which also makes me bigger)...Cuz I'm working for both. It's good to look the part, and be the part IMO. Nobody messes with you if your big, and if somebody is dumb enough to mess with you then you go ahead and play the part you know. On the other hand I do agree with you in saying there's a lot of lazy boxers. If you train, and eat properly it should show some results...
I for one have very strong opinions about this. A guy's fighting ability shouldn't be judged on their physic. However, if a fighter is training hard, for the most part they should looked rip. I primarily blame it on two things. 1. Training camps 2. Lack of nutritional knowledge I for one think that the a fighter should be training year round. Not hard training, but stay in shape. In between fights many fighters balloon up and cut down for fights. Cutting weight is definitely not good for their health and might as well be cutting fat vs water weight. And in this business, a fighter should care what they put in their mouth, at least for the sake of their health. For the most part boxing is a skill sport, but there are physical dimensions that exercise can help with. Explosive power, speed, endurance, etc. All of those are hampered with un-needed fat and lack of conditioning. For the most part, the best boxers look ripped. One of the things I used to hate about MMA, how most of the guys looked fat and seemed to me like they didn't take their training serious. Now it's about even for both sports. Anyhow, that's my opinion because of my training and the people I've met in combat sports.
He's just a ****ing bodybuilder with useless muscles. I bet Paulie Malignaggi KTFO this Asian guy in less than a round. Hamburger is a heal of a meal. :-( Srsly these two really look like two average bistro beer drinkers. atsch I mean look at his titties ...
