When I look at Marquez and Hopkins they seem to age like you would expect a great fighter to age. But fighters like Morales, Barrara, RJonesJr seem to all have careers that were basically over by early 30's.

Is it just the result of to many wars and their styles being less boxer and more fighter?

I think Mayweather is likely going the way of hopkins and manny may well be going down like morales..

    Any thoughts?

Styles. Hopkins and Marquez are both grounded technicians who have evaded wars with their defensive abilities. Jones never hard the technical base and Morales and Barrera loved a war too much. There's also a fighters lifestyle outside of the ring to take into account.

The most entertaining fighters tend to burn out fast.

Life style and genetics are also a big factor.

Can't really put Roy with this "group", as he really didn't take his first "real loss" until after the age of 35.
