Why do some fighters not lose speed when they move up?

They say wheb you move up you will sacrifice some speed. That's the first they talk about. But I think power loss is a much bigger problem when moving up.

Roy Jones was faster at 160 and 168 than he was at 154. Manny Pacquiao is former Flyweight champ. But was fastest at 126 pounds. Many weight classes north. Tommy Hearns was former Welterweight Champ. But was fastest at 154 pounds. Was probably even faster at 160 than 147.

So maybe the idea of losing speed wheb you move up is wrong.

Maybe boxers known for their speed look 'faster' when they move up in weight, not because they are any quicker, but because their opponents in a higher weight catagory are slower than those they faced at lower weights? A fighter's speed is always relative to that of the opponent.

    Never heard of those guys.

Like someone mentioned, when you move up in weight, and you fight fighters bigger than you, you will look faster than when the fighter was fighting at the lower weights, against faster fighters..
