Why do some folk on here call for everyting to be on SKY rather than terrestrial TV? I don't get it?!:huh
A lot of folks seems annoyed at the presenters for a start and wish the SKY ones were on show.... ...it's like, just watch the fight... the actual fight is what it is all about...
I'm pretty sure every boxing fan wants boxing on terrestial tv. Even though the casuals can be proper ****ing annoying we need them to make boxing a major sport again. All of my mates like boxing. All of them watched Groves/DeGale Haye, Pacman, Mayweather etc but they don't follow boxing. Bbc, Itv or 5 would change that.
The reality is boxing is not going to find a regular spot on terrestrial TV at the moment, thus its best option of success is via SKY. As BSKYB seem to be the only TV station prepared to invest in the sport.
I think its to do with the fact sky give you more coverage etc. More in depth analysis, build up. Has the Fury vs Chisora card been on Sky this weekend we would have seen the Theophane vs Cook fight etc.
I dont care what channel its on aslong as I dont have to pay extra than my tv license and sky package.
I've seen these folk around OP, they seem to think Sky are doing us a favour by showing boxing. I pay my subscription to watch ten pin bowling championships.
If boxing ever goes back to terrestrial TV in both the UK and US it isn't going to happen all at once. PPV numbers will fall over time and gradually channels will stop forcing fans to pay for boxing until we have it back on terrestrial TV. If SKY is the first to go- great
