Why do some people think Canelo was not on the juice for the first GGG fight?

Garbage performance? If that was a garbage performance -- coming straight ahead, begging canelo to trade, even sticking his chin out begging canelo to hit it, and then fighting 100% of every round. Forget that GGG TRULY outlanded canelo by 100 punches (proof is on utube). But if u call that a garbage performance. What was canelo's? LOL Man there are some truly delusional people in this world.

Idk. Let’s see. Canelo landed the better punches. Showcased more skill. Defensively was more effective than G’s offense. Nullified G’s whole identity. Caused more physical damage to Golovkin’s face (although Gia supposedly landed 100 punches more lol) and body. What’s your proof again? An Artorias 4 minute video and compubox? And surely you’re picking Golovkin in the rematch correct?

I’m sure you’re even betting on G with your own money because Golovkins performance instills that much confidence in you right? Is Golovkin still old and deteriorating lmao

You guys are fair weather bums who try to act like you’re confident one day and become excuse makers the next. I don’t need YouTube or any kind of other bs to lean on. How about me and you ban bet? I’m delusional so what do you have to lose. 6 month?

    This.

Even if one thought GGG won it cannot be denied that Canelo put in a hell of a performance. Canelo was brilliant.

GGG fans like to criticise Canelo's performances simply because their pre fight prediction of GGG knocking Canelo out never came close to happening. GGG never hurt Canelo so they need to come up with excuse like 'Canelo ran' .

Actually that's not true. I think Canelo was a lot better than I anticipated and that he proved a lot. That still doesn't mean that I think he won the fight. And the dope tests raise the legitimate question of "how was he able to improve so much?"

Exactly. I believe we're in the minority here as being able to be fans of BOTH GUYS, something way too many posters simply cannot fathom (The stupid and immature always have to take sides....). But while I say Canelo fought very well, it was often in short spurts, taking moments off too often.

But the idea Canelo landed harder shots is just laughable. Flashier? Yes. Harder? No...

Did he improve the that much though?

Personally I thought Canelo was going to win the fight. At worst be ultra competitive.

The idea that GGG was going to walk though and take Canelo out with ease was completely ridiculous as Canelo was far too good for that to happen. Canelo was a huge jump in class from GGG's previous opponents.

LOL. There's no such thing as PED's. I wonder what the excuses will be when GGGump gets KO'd the next time.

Yup, many so-called fans don't know what the 10 pt. scoring system is and or don't use it to score fights. Canelo clearly landed the better punches, not only was it visibly obvious, but it made GGG gun shy. Canelo's defense was also masterful, reducing the usually very accurate Golovkin to 30% connect rate. And how can you say the aggression was effective when you missed 70% of your punches, did not land body punches, and was reduced to landing jabs, which a great number of those jabs were safe, weak measuring jabs. Between rounds 4-9 when Canelo took the foots of the gas, GGG managed to outwork Canelo despite still not landing the better punches, so that is what made the fight competitive, once Canelo got his second wind he was back at teeing off on GGG while GGG followed Canelo around the ring ineffectively getting countered by big power punches.

If and when Canelo wins the rematch you will see a host of excuses from; GGG is old, Canelo is on the juice, GGG was too distracted, GGG had the cards stacked against him, and who knows what other justification that will help them cope with the loss.

Totally agree. People were asking why GGG never threw to the body when the answer was obvious. Getting close to Canelo to throw body shots leaves GGG vunruble to Canelo throwing back upstairs. GGG is fully aware of this and decided he didn't want to take that risk.

I thought Canelo showed brilliant upper body movement in the fight to slip punches and even when GGG did try to and throw combinations he soon stepped back as he didn't want to be in close for too long with a puncher like Canelo.

Even the biggest GGG fan cannot honestly disagree with the opinion that GGG was made to fight a different fight than they thought would happen due to the excellence of Canelo.

I never expected Golovkin to take Canelo out with ease.

What I did expect was for Canelo to look good in bursts, and to start gassing at around 5-6th. I thought that he would not be able to take Golovkin's sustained pressure and that he would be dismantled by the GGG jab. I think I predicted a round 8 KO by GGG. In fact, he started to gasp for air as early as the 4th, and I thought that my genius prediction would come true.

What I did not expect was the incredible second wind Canelo managed to dig up, which, given what we now know about clenbuterol, might be explained. I didn't expect Canelo to be as mobile as he was - that was a surprise to everybody I think - and I didn't think he could take Golovkin's punch.

Nevertheless, despite some die hards trying to re-write the fight into something it wasn't, the facts are that Golovkin was the aggressor, he landed more punches, he landed about as many power shots and a LOT more jabs. He bullied Canelo around the ring and it's clear who wanted it more.

In slow motion it's also clear that a lot of the flashy stuff Canelo seems to land is picked off on the gloves, slipped or blocked by the arm Golovkin kept across his body specifically to negate Canelo's body attack.

It's clear to me and the majority of fans that Golovkin won the fight.

I don't know what Canelo can do to improve besides fixing his stamina. He IS a great fighter and that may be enough. On the other hand Golovkin looked a bit soft going into his camp, so he may have some room to improve himself. He could try going to the body more and they need to ensure that they have a ref that won't call punches that end up on Canelo's back due to his extreme body movement, fouls. He could also start faster. The questio of his advanced age also comes into play. Can GGG sustain his form?

In my opinion Golovkin wins the rematch (again).

    But, obviously, we will see.

The only fighters that go out of their way to prove they are clean are the ones that never pop dirty. That’s it. I don’t care what doubt they try to create after the fact. They can spin it anyway they like for damage control, but I rather they just admit it or pretend it never happened than play dumb.

Even if it came from tainted meat (lol), I, nor anyone, should not believe he didn’t know exactly what he was doing. The guy is a multimillionaire and should be eating the very best quality food money can buy.

If he was eating cheap beef notorious for being chock full of Clen, he was doing it intentionally.
