It's not like WWE or UFC, people don't yell in the streets to get fights signed. There's a process and a very long one that is all about MONEY. They don't call and discuss glory into making fights.

Glory might be keeping you starving in your studio apartment, it might be feeding you for all I care but it doesn't pay the bills of these guys who put their lives on the line going in the ring.

Speaking of the "best", both Cotto and Hatton turned down the "best" at 140 when they ditched Mayweather, right?

Didn't Mayweather's move to welterweight have the intention of fighting the "best" and that was unified undisputed champipn Zab Judah BEFORE losing to Baldomir?. You know the fight was signed and date was announced BEFORE Zab fought Baldomir and lost, right?. Or was WBOgus paper champion Antonio "Tijuana can" Margarito the best for fighting and beating Andrew "Six Heads Zero Chins" Lewis?

Because they might lose and that would affect their future earning power. The modern system of dozens of belts and superfluous weight division allows them to pick and choose opponents who sometimes look like good matchups on paper.
