I understand your pain, younger brothers often get bullied by the elder brother, my younger brother is like you, I did some bad things to him and I regret it, we have a great relationship now but I know I can never erase his scars completely, I apologized to him much later because I didnt know about the scar, I thought the good things overweigh the bad things but I had been wrong.
He would still not want to fight me, because he knows the consequences could be irreparable for the whole family.
Vitali and Wlad are huge boxers with enormous power, one would get ktfo for sure if they fought with the intention of going for the ko. The only way to get them actually to fight is that they hate eachother which is not the case, but you can be sure Vitali was in the past sometimes as mean as your brother. My younger brother matured as you did, although he cannot forget what I did to him he forgave me which makes me proud of him, I would die for him as he would for me.

Yes I fully support boxers fighting who they want, when they, as often as they want. Because at the end of the day they are individuals performing a job and shouldn't be forced into anything.

But at the same time anybody on this board who has the nerve to place either (or in extreme cases both) in a top ATG ranking list given that neither has faced their greatest challenge, or to say things like "THEY have cleaned out the division" needs to be called out.

They need to be judged for it the same way you would judge any other #1 and #2 fighter would mutually agreed never to fight. Instead they agree to split the division between them. And their fans go along with it just fine.

Imagine a scenario where Tyson and Holyfield agreed to team up in the 80's and 90's.
-Tyson and Holyfield have cleaned out the heavyweight division
-Since you lost to Tyson you will never get a chance to fight Holyfield
-If you beat Holyfield you must face Tyson immediately afterwards.
-Holyfield avenged Tyson's loss to Douglas so it doesn't count

    They are brothers,

but okay I'll play along and take the bait

Mr. Sillyman has state that WBC holders cannot unify titles and hold multiple belts. So what is the point if you are never going to be able to hold all the titles???????

The main reason is because they have no feud between them that would motivate a fight and also their mother doesn't want them to. Given this is the case, I would rather see them in a sparring match for charity than have a real fight.

As far as stripping them, the sanctioning body would be doing it against there economic interest.

Fine strip Wlad and give the belts to Vitali. But then next year you'll have to strip Vitali and give the belts to Wlad etc etc.

Or strip Wlad and give his belts to Haye. Well Wlad will just beat Haye and take them right back.

What, in detail, do you want the sanctioning bodies to do? What will it accomplish?

But Tyson and Holyfield are not brothers. If they are brothers, and they don't fight each other for that reason, would people be fine with that? I suspect they would. Would their ranking in history drop? Of course.

It simply the case that the two best heavyweights in the world happened to be brothers who like each other. That is an unprecedented situation. Nothing like that happened before in heavyweight history. It is to their misfortune that they cannot fight the other best of their generation because of that.

Is it their fault? No. Should they be penalized for it? I don't think so, so long as they fight the best of the rest, which they do. But would it affect their long term ranking in history? Yes. Negatively, I think.

That is why I wanted Vitali to retire so Wlad can be undisputed, or wish that Vitali didn't come back in 2008, but that's another topic.

Still, with all that, looking at the latest top 25 or so top heavyweights in history, Wlad, with all the criticism, legitimate or not, he's got, is firmly in the top 15 in many lists, and is top 20 in virtually all. Vitali, not so much.

Spinks Bros. never fought each other. Vitali is WBC, not mandatory for Vlad in any way. They said from the very beginning that they would never fight each other....................

Other than the Klitchko's when was there ever 2 brothers that were world champions at the same time at the same weight?

Its not as if there is a precedent for them having to fight each other. Thread is foolish.

I've often wondered if Wlad's panic after being hit and tendency to be hurt from single punches has roots in being bullied by his brother. Maybe Vitali knocked him out a few times as a kid.
