Worse? Hard to say, I'd say both Price and Tie Fields have worse chins, for example. Wilder, once he actually fights live comp, will be shown to have total glass in that mandible too!
Joe Louis, Dempsey and Floyd Patterson have been KD'd like 50 or 60 times between them. Vitali has a great chin and so did Holmes.
Valuev???? How foolish is that. How bout Vitali, down only once and it was vs Corrie Sanders of all ppl. How bout Ustinov? Cant even him being remotely hurt. Outclassed with no chance of comeback, yeah, but hurt??? Wach? Come on now. Helenius? Sure he's been recently starched, but prior to this latest fight, he'd take some hellacious shots with taking a backward step.
Tyson Fury doesn't have a glass chin. Tyson has never lost a fight and is the best fighter on the planet actually. And the rightful undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World except for 1 paper belt that Wilder has
Fury was downed by a Cruiser but he wasn't hurt at all. Lewis had a pretty good chin - the Rahman shot would have knocked any heavy out.
It's also way easier to take punches at Lightweight compared to Heavyweight. Why the hell is it like even rare to see a Mexican fighter over Middleweight? This quite an astonishing fact to me considering that Mexico is the fattest country in the World according to a report by the United Nations. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/201...-united-states-fattest-country_n_3571988.html
Take into account HW's are fighting other HW's who are throwing punches that would knock any man on this planet out cold and you'll understand.
Sure - that's why Rahman wasn't able to knock out Holyfield, or even shaky-chinned John Ruiz who was blasted out in 19 seconds by David Tua!!! And that's why Lewis was also taken out in two rounds by Oliver McCall, who was a mediocre fighter with a superb chin who was not known as a particularly heavy hitter!!!
I think you miss the point, Sir. I was talking about the specific shot that knocked out Lewis. I mean Tyson wasn't able to knock out Lewis, so does that mean Rahman > Tyson? Of course not. The Lewis that got taken out by McCaLL was young and he learned from it. Besides, McCall was a legit world class fighter at the time.
As opposed to any size having a glass chin? I think there's you're answer.. you're assigning positive and negative to tall and small..
But I think chin comes down to a combination of legs.. chest and neck.. being wide etc.. all the McCall types have it.. And balance etc.. Naz was small and had a good chin..
All glass jaw threads are joke threads started by people who know little about boxing than the blindingly obvious.... people get hit on the chin and some go down more than others. Don't see many threads on the top ten best check hooks or shoulder rolls do we?
