i dont see why boxing has to diss mma. if anything the two sports bring more support to each other. the only direct competition to mma as i see it is wwf wrestling- that demographic . and theyve suffered in recent years due to mma.

Because they are glass chin frauds who have to run or go to the ground or they will get Ko'd.

And when Dana White proposed him to fight the UFC champ he shi+ed his pants with excuses how he didn't mean that, etc:rofl

MMA took all bad things from boxing, that makes it loose fans every year and improved them:

    1) fighters fight for 1 organizations so there are no scorecard robberies as all guys fight for same company so it benefits no matter the result is
    2) having a L doesn't deny your chances of reaching the top, so fighters aren't scared bithes trying to protect their "perfect" record
    3) there are no thousands of irrational weight classes with at least 4 champs ducking each other in every one of them

Those are just 3 things that annoys me most in boxing and don't take place in MMA. That's why it's getting so popular nowadays. Unless something changes in boxing in few years it will be reduced to sport only for some die-hard fans on friday nights

that's what happens when fighters consistently fight the best. Doesn't happen too often in boxing. When it does the guys who get few losses are called overrated or shot. That's one thing MMA has over boxing right now, much less fickle fans and less hysterical haters shitting on fighters for their losses

The best don't face the best all the time in the UFC, it is a myth. The recycle the same matches over and over. They could have had GSP/Silva a long time ago, now GSP is injured, it may never happen.

Silva and GSP are many lbs apart. GSP is likely too small for Silva. It's like a fantasy matchup fans demand because both cleaned out their divisions beating all the best contenders.

I agree. Using that example of Silva not fighting GSP, isn't the best one. Sliva walks around at 225 lbs reportedly, and GSP at 190. GSP said if he did move up 15 lbs he would have to stay there, because he didn't want the same thing that happened to Roy, happen to him. Nice thing about sports physiology, is they have a clear explanation of why rapid lean mass loss can slow the reflexes.

The matches, that the fans covet most occur on a much more frequent basis than in the UFC, because its just a single organization than boxing. 2 different sports, but as a boxing fan, I wish a similar methodology, or mo would occur, where payday and record are not in conflict with matches that fans want. Bad thing about so many promotion companies, belt organizations, all separated all trying to make the most money in house.

MMA fighters have journeymen records have nothing to do with "The Best fighting the best"

The Klitsckos have cleaned out an entire division and havent lost. If Pacquiao and Mayweather fought eachother 50 times yeah they might both have journeyman records. But Pacquiao and Mayweather could each fight the entire top 20 boxers in their divisions not including themselves, and they both wouldnt lose one fight.

MMA is a sport based on luck. Where anyone can beat anyone on any given night. Boxing is purely skill. As Roger Mayweather said, usually the guy who supposed to win in boxing is going to win. In MMA you can get caught with an elbow or a lucky punch and you're going down.

You guys are crazy. Most UFC and MMA fighters have barely been exposed to the sport for 5 years and they are already elite. Like Jon Jones who all he had was a background in wrestling in college lol. Right now, only a few MMA fighters exhibit true skill. Hell maybe it was like that with boxing when it first began to. But in Boxing you need atleast 10 years experience before you can compete at an elite level even if you have the athletic ability to do so. Look at how long it took Sergio Martinez to reach the top. He went from getting blasted out by Margarito to being middleweight champ of the world. Boxing takes time to be great. IN MMA you can be a ****ing WWE wrester and DAna will make you HEavyweight champ.

Umm usually when a guy loses 3 times by KO, he IS SHOT in boxing.

Is Jermaine Taylor prime anymore? You think he was capable of competing at a level he was before he got KO'd by Pavlik?

You dont know what the hell you are talking about. So if Pacquao and Maywather fought the top 20 in their division, how many fights would they lose. :patsch 1 at the most? Maybe?

When you lose in boxing. Its not getting submitted on the ground after a 1 minute fight. Its taking a sustained beating over a 36 minutes, if you are lucky you are KO'd fast and suffer a concussion.

In boxing when fighters lose they often are ruined. Hel when fighters win they are ruined. Boxing is an exponentionally more dangerous sport then MMA.

Pacquiao started at 107, now competes at 147. Boxers move up in weight all the time. Dana fears that his golden boy will become mediocre if he moves up and competes with the best.

    :patsch

Remember that the differences between weight classes in MMA are bigger than in boxing.

Most of the matches you mentioned are just irrational because the smaller fighter would have to gain to match weight for that bout and no one knows how that would affect their style.

Everybody agreed here that guys like Mormeck or Adamek are to small for K2 bros. But you want Jones vs Silva or vs Dos Santos?

Pacquiao is too small for Martinez but Edgar is ok for GSP?

How about Donaire vs Mayweather, Dawson vs Povetkin, etc?

Now you see what you did there?

Yes but he started when he was young about 16 years ago. Nobody wanted him to jump that much from fight to fight and fight champ there.
