Why do up and comers only fight a couple of times a year now?

    exactly its the reason why we get green seeming technically flawed champs and guys who have a belt but havent actually beaten anybody worth while

    i call it the deli line trend in boxing

    you beat enough guys like you said with nice enough records but lacking just enough skill to look like a good win, get a rank and a following and just wait for the title shot to come your way

    contenders fighting each other has turned into a thing of the past, some times just stringing 5 or so KO's vs empty comp can get a title fight

    :deal real talk. The fighters in the 90's even fought more often as well. It didn't take 5 years of being pro until finally challenging for a title.

    That's why all the top fighters in the p4p list are close to 30
