is it because we want to see blood? two men fighting? because we are men? you, why do you watch boxing?
it's the only sport where 2 guys want to kill each other before a fight, solve their issues in the ring, and are best mates after the fight
1 on 1. No team BS. Losing actually make a difference. Guys in NFL games usually give up after the 3rd quarter, and say "We''ll get em' next time!"
Boxing is the ultimate test. Two men enter the ring and do battle with each other. It is the simplest sport, yet filled with complexities. At it's best, it is the ultimate test of will and character. The display of spirit and desire to over come exhibited in a single Gatti fight, for example, eclipses the greatest displays in any other sport.
There were a lot of bullies in my school, so identifying with boxers made me feel stronger. I'm fascinated by how each man's strengths and weaknesses plays out in combat. As we all know, the stronger guy doesn't always win.
I like to see people knocked out cold. There is nothing like a glass jaw getting shattered. The Khan-man is particularly good at delivering in this regard!!
it is the ultimate test. as ray leonard said it 'no other way can compare to the way you test yourself in the ring' it is the toughest and most demanding sport but also on of the most rewarding. george foreman - 'all sports are just watered down versions of boxing, but sometimes you want a real strong shot of whiskey' i think that sums up why we watch it.
:thumbsup I'm a sport's lover in general, but boxing is admirable because it takes a mixture of almost everything to succeed: skill, heart, desire, dedication, bravery, intellegence. Peak mental as well as physical. It is also exciting to watch.
It's technical, one bad move can end the whole fight that they trained months for. I don't care if I see blood or not. I want to see fast pace, fast heads and slick counters. It is a great sport
I guess I just like the one on one and the fact that the fight can end at any moment and anything can happen in the fights.
I like a lot of sports. Boxing has always been my favorite because there really isn't much you can do to "hide" faults like in other sports. Plus, honestly, some of the weirdo's surrounding the sport make it very entertaining for me. Being on the outside looking in. Wouldn't feel that way if I had to actually make a living at it though.
It is violent. It is obvious. It is exciting. They are the reasons I can think of. All sports have some element of violence in them, but boxing has the intent. It is obvious, at least in the ring, you know what you are seeing and you see it clearly. Outside the ropes I can't say the same thing for obvious reasons such as politics. It is exciting because its so direct. In football, you do not know if a goal or a touchdown will be scored. Not for sure. In golf you don't know how each shot will pan out. In tennis you don't know if there will be any good rallies or not. In boxing, you know for sure that two men are going to go at it in some form, there's a degree of certainty about that. I like the feeling at 3 o'clock when everyone else is asleep and I'm staying up to watch a live fight from abroad. I like seeing a perfect combination land. I like the subjectivity, the fact that I can see it a different way to someone else and that can be discussed.
Nearly every boy loves to watch a fight in the schoolyard. It's something that most just don't grow out of.
