Why do you believe Mike Tyson completely dodged Bowe and Foreman?

Why would you say that? Boxers are also human beings not robots. Not a video game.

Rememeber George Foreman managed himself. Don King controlled Tyson. King wasnt going to let Foreman have a shot without BigGeorge signing options on future fights. Thats how Don did buisness.

George Foreman wasnt stupid enough to let King own him during his second career. Thats where the stumbling block was.

Had it not been for that Don King wouldve thrown Tyson in there in 2 seconds agasint Foreman.

That was smart buisness not an excuse. Look at how Don King treated his fighters how he controlled them and the $$ he stole from them.

You think Foreman shouldve signed his rights away with King? Are you serious?

Do I think he should have? Not necessarily, but if he wanted a fight with Tyson he had to play by Kings rules, because King controlled Tyson and it was no secret how King played. Foreman was very aware of this, and some people very close to the situation seem to think Foreman just used Tyson as a way to create hype for himself. He knew what he would have to do with King to get the fight and look what happened to Foreman? He got the Holyfield title fight which he felt was a much easier fight.

Not sure if Tyson ducked Foreman. Maybe just there was not enough time.

From 1990 to 1991, the fight that mattered was Holyfield-Tyson and they were working on it. But Tyson went to prison.

When he came back in 1995, they continued the negociations and tuneups for the megafight between Tyson and Holyfield.

In 1996, it finally happened. And the rematch in 1997.

    No date for Tyson-Foreman.

I dont doubt he used Tyson`s name to create hype. Mike Tyson was the champion when Big George started his comeback. If anyone should have compromised it would have been King/Tyson`s side because there was so much $$ on the table for a fight like that. You basically had to sell your sould to fight for King.

I believe Foreman wanted the heavyweight title. That`s what he said all along. If he was afraid of or wanted to avoid Mike Tyson he never would have comeback in the first place.

Tyson lost the belt to Douglas then Holyfield got it. Thats who Foreman targeted because he had the title.

If Tyson had stayed champion and Foreman never faced him it would be more reasonable to say he avoided Tyson.

Foreman came back because he was broke and had a ton of Georges to feed. He couldnt make it as a preacher. He didnt comeback to win the title he came back to make a lot of money, but unlike a lot of guys who comeback for money Foreman fought his butt off and you dont take those kind of beatings if your heart isnt in it. George did very well in his comeback all the way through, but the fact is he never was on the level of the elite group that was in the mix at the time and his struggles with mid level contenders was proof of it. Lets not forget he was getting his butt kicked by Moorer too before he landed that righthand so if you look past that fight, he was pretty outclassed overall by the better fighters. He could do well against guys like Lou Savarese, Shannon Briggs and those mid level fringe contenders and that in itself was a very good accomplishment for a guy his size with that style he fought in. It was a lot easier for an old Larry Holmes to outbox guys than it was for George to stand in and pound out wins and thats why he looked like the stay puft marshmallow man after most of his fights.

A sort of mytholgy has built up about Tyson avoiding old Foreman.

If he did, then I can only say that he was badly misguided.

As for Bowe, his track record dosn't justify anybody being acused of ducking him!

He did better than your giving him credit for.

He KOd an undefeated Heavyweight Champion. He took Holyfield the distance in a spirited fast fight. Thats better than Tyson was able to do. He also beat Shannon Briggs regardless of what the judges said. On his way to a title shot he beat the #2 contender Aldison Rodgriguez KO2 he wasnt a great figher but he was ranked in the top 5. Not any worse than the guys Tyson made his name off on his way to the top.

If George just cameback for the $$ he wouldve retired after the Holyfield fight. He wanted the Heavyweight Championship.

I do believe that George Foreman avoided some fighters during his second career. Lennox Lewis and maybe Bowe. I dont think Tyson was one of the fighters he needed to avoid.

In George Foreman`s mind anyone who comes to him and is there to be hit he can beat. Right or wrong thats what he believed. When your that strong can you blame him?

Well in Bowe had problems of his own. He had a pretty short career himself. By the time Tyson came out of prison Riddick was on the way down. He was getting his ass handed to him by Andrew Golota.

Riddick Bowe was a food addict. He couldnt control himself at the table. He ate his way out of the HOF.

Both Tyson and Bowe were screwed up. Neither guy was scared or really directly avoided the other. Life just happened.
