but i dont have to box to achieve respect from my mates and the community. i can do it in other ways.
i think the ppl that ur looking for answers from will often feel they like the art of fighting/boxing and the other lifestyle always intrigued them a bit. i can't answer personally because u excluded me with the last sentence lol
I want to prove myself, gain respect, gain respect for myself, conquer mentally weaker individuals, and prove that I'm better than the pack. I want people to see me walk by and say, "There strides a man.." I also wanted to learn self-defense, and I consider boxing the best for fending off multiple aggressors, which is my primary concern given by location. It takes tremendous discipline and mental toughness to be a boxer, and I want to challenge myself. Also, it's just a beautiful sport.
I just love to fight and have been in trouble for it a number of times fighting in night clubs and at football. I decided to take up boxing mainly because I loved the sport and loved contact sport also used to play rugby union. I find the training hard but enjoy most parts of it. I have only ever sparred but would love to get in the ring for real to test my mental strength as its very easy to fight in a club or bar because its spontaneous you do not have time to think about what might happen. In boxing you stand for a few mins staring a person in the eyes who wants and is going to try and hurt you it is the ultimate test of balls and bottle. Boxing is the purest sport and can be a sweet science (not when I am boxing though brawler all the way lol) it separates the men from the boys everybody wishes they had the bollocks to get in a ring and admire those who can and do.
