He's a boxing promoter you're supposed to hate him. But as boxing promoters go he's better than most, doesn't over protect his fighters too much, doesn't screw them over and makes most of the fights that fans want or at least tries too. Most people who have hate for him probably supported a fighter that fought one of his fighters and so he's the enemy in their eyes. That this vs them mentality we see all the time in sports. Also some hate because of his success because nobody likes anyone to be too successful, or at least that's a very British trait we love an underdog and anyone getting too big for their boots needs taking down a peg or two. Doesn't mean Hearn shouldn't be criticised for any BS though, even if he is the best of a terrible bunch. Personally I find it funny that he gets so much hate, honestly if he didn't he wouldn't be doing his job properly, it's part of the job as a boxing promoter. It's not easy being a boxing fan and we need to blame someone when it all too often goes wrong in the sport.

Overall no promoters have that much between them; they're all behind their fighters and don't mind bending the truth to support them. Hearn does tend to be a bit more bitchy than others though. Recently, his handling of the Conor Benn fiasco has been pretty dire but we can't know who is in the driving seat there. Similarly with AJ, his fights seem to take a ridiculous amount of effort to get over the line, but what do we know about what really goes on behind the scenes. Over time it all balances out and he'll come in to favour again, I'm sure of that. Balances out for me as whether or not DAZN works out over time, he took a risk for something he believed in and you have to respect that.

What a strange thread. Promoters don't have fans or haters. They're pantomime villains who make money off of fighters. None get more love/hate than the others. We watch the sport for the boxers, not the promoters.
He insults your intelligence. But as far as promoting goes and putting on good shows and been a good buisness man. He's good at that
HPE ie. Handsome Promoter Envy obviously has a lot to do with it for many. How many promoters can you name who were blessed with the dashing good looks of a 50s matinee idol? Compare Eddie to the likes of the best looking promoters across the pond like Lou Dibella and Leonard Ellerbe and it's not even a contest. Pair of pot-bellied slobs vs someone who would arguably be the best looking James Bond if he got the gig. Imagine the ghastly sight of Dibella or Ellerbe naked in the bath with their big pot bellies protruding out of the water like a small island? Imagine the stench of the water?
