Its obvious by this thread that the hatton fans are so many that people who dont like/rate Hatton are scared to say so, for fear of being attacked by the Hatton hordes.

    Not me though:D

Now I have been open & honest about my reasons for disliking Hatton from day one.

But hey, after watching last nights Setanta build up, I found even more reason to hate on Hatton.

Wayne McCullough is talking about Ricky, & Ricky walks over & spits water over Waynes head. Utterly disrespectful. If some **** spat water on me, I would punch them in the jaw. Thats not being funny, thats just being plain disrespectful. Wayne looked shocked & humiliated, & then just sheepishly laughed.

Then later on, it shows some guy after hattons fight with Urango, there were women in the background & while the guy was on his knees hatton poured bottle of water over his head. Once again the guy sheepishly laughed, but if hatton was a nice guy, he wouldnt have humiliated the guy like that in front of women.

Ricky Hatton is just a little git, & its about time he picked on someone his own age & size.

Not much chance of that happening though;)

can anyone say his F_ING style.

it reminds me of what Jim Braddock got his license revoked for. yet the USA's hands are tied because if they ban this guy for his **** style they will have 5 million Hatton nuthuggers with bad teeth on there door step asking why Hatton has been banned.

Ricky Hatton makes John Ruiz look like Roy Jones jr.

My reasons are simple why i dont like Hatton his style. its like watching curling. no i would prefer curling.
Max Kellerman and Emanuel Steward were right about his style its ****.

I honestly dont think his style is as bad as people make out. He was definitely guilty of excessive holding against Urango and Collazo, but they were both pretty awkward southpaw guys and he was still finding his feet at 147.

In the Castillo fight, he wasnt honestly holding all that much. I reckon they were about even in terms of who was initiating the clinches.

He definitely does hold a bit, but I wouldnt say excessively. He really just uses it as a method of getting inside and using his strength as a weapon. He really does have short arms for the weight, so itd be next to impossible for him to work his way inside off a jab like a lot of other guys can.

I can see how people can be critical of his style, but honestly its not as bad as people tend to make out.

Yes, if Hatton keeps fighting that way he can have his license revoked, and if it happens, I wouldnt be that surprised.

I like all British fighters who do well on the world scene.

Only problem I have with Hatton Is he's contradicting at times.

Why I'm not a Hatton fan.....

I think Ricky Hatton is a bully that targets opponents he knows he can beat and avoids tough challenges like Mayweather/Cotto/Witter.

Hatton has completely disrespected British boxing by ducking Witter from 2000-2007, its disgraceful

Hes a CHEAT! Against Tyszu he throw a horrible low blow, and he could have been DQ'ed in that fight. Against Castillo he got hit on the beltline (the ref said it was okay) and pretended he had been low blowed. Thats not to mention any of his huggy bear routines.

The fact he plays on being a man of the people while expecting everyone to shell out a load of money to help him make another few million against another stiff is a bit of joke.

Good fighter, not great, still doesn't want to fight a top fighter in their prime. Goto admit his Castillo performance was excellent but Castillo was past it and unproven at 140

Hatton to me has always seemed a classy humble guy and contrary to what many people on this site seem to think i actually enjoy most of his fights

ok the Urango bout was a bit of a bore and he did employ some roughman tactics against zoo

but from the moment i saw him on the tyson francis undercard back in 2000 i took a liking to him for his no nonsense approach and at his peak he is the definition of whirlwind of fury throwing punch after punch always marching forward

personality wise theres not much wrong except the third person thing grates a little

aah, thankyou Beatboxer my scottish buddy:good

Reason I am thanking you is a few of the english lads seem to think cos I hate Ricky, tht all scottish boxing fans hate Ricky. But I told 'em they couldnt be further from the truth. Scottish fight fans in the main adore Hatton, & thats the only thing that honestly upsets me, as I dont want people to think cos I hate Hatton that Scotland has a problem with him. That would defeat the purpose, cos I dont want the forum to go down that route where all the Hatton fans hate all things scottish just cos of one big mouthed poster(me:D ) who has a personal dislike for one fighter, HATTON. & all the other jocks have to get involved in petty slanging matches. Everyone thinks Im on a mission to be the next William Wallace, but thats not true;)

Im not THAT petty! Thats how I am happy you came along & said what you just did. Its good that the scots lads can get behind english fighters. I just wish some more of the englanders would get behind our boys, but life aint that simple.

Sorry to have to drag you into something thats nothing to do with you young fella, but I hd to use your post to prove a point.

Because there is a guy in Sheffield who once held British, Commonwealth and European titles at 140lbs and now holds the WBC belt that Hatton doesn't want to fight.

    1. Do people want Hatton to fight Americans?

    2. Get badly beaten by De La Hoya or Mayweather?

    3. Fight Junior Witter in the UK for the WBC and ring belts on ITV?

    :yep
