Back when I joined Hatton and Calzaghe used to get a lot of hate. It's calmed down since they've retired/become inactive.
If the search function was better on here these days I'd find the "most hated" and "most liked" poll threads that someone started a couple of years back. Hatton was one of the "most liked" boxers and didn't get that many votes in the "most hated" either. A vocal minority will always hate the most popular boxers, its not always a good indication of the forum in general.
Because it's been overtaken with your racism, Ishy, lad. One form of hate being taken over by another is never a good thing. There's some really interesting threads from a few years ago way back as well. Don't want to bump them all as people will get pissy, but you'll have to take my word for it. Anyway, this thread has been stuck on the last page for over 3 years, so why not change the scenery? Loads of Stegsie's threads are back there with 0 replies as well. It's like a time machine, man. I also thought that the Brit forum was a lot older than just over 3 years as well.
Stegsie's threads never get many replies for some reason. Gaz will know this, was there a big crash on ESB that wiped everything away before 2007? edit: He must be a mind reader
Yes, it is dodgy as **** when people do this. Reading posts so old they feel like they belong to someone else. Messes with me.
In any case Haye (who around this time was being held up as an example of how Hatton and Calzaghe should run their careers) is getting it these days!!! I bet Ronnie Heffron can't wait....
The hate for Calzaghe and Hatton has indeed faded big time. They are just washed up, middle-aged men (or perhaps even older in Hatton's) now. Hate has turned to pity for these millionaire party animals.
