Hi, I have been on here for about three years and never post because usually my questions are already answered, but I thought I would ask this one. Why do you love boxing? people ask me this a lot and I dont know what to say, I just tell them " I dont know, I just do, I have always loved it " and this is a sport I have loved since I was 5 years old and I cant answer their simple question! every time a watch a fight I get that nervous feeling that I enjoy. I do amateur boxing and when I fight I get that feeling like "no way im actually boxing, this is incredible" but I dont know how to explain it. so my question is, why do you love it? Im sure we all love it for the same reasons, but I want to be able to explain to people why I love it. so thats why I need your input.
So you've been on here 3 years but decided to make a new account this month and start posting? Bull****. Don't lie if you've just signed up, what's the point. And I love it because of the competitiveness and the individuality, you don't have to rely on a team like in rugby or football and sit back and do nothing, you get in the ring and it's you on your own, nobody else.
I actually have been on here for three years, I have never made an account, I have always looked at the posts as a guest, but I was getting tired when there were big fights and they wouldnt allow me to look at the forum after the fight, I would have to wait until the next day to look at everyones posts. I know what your thinking " why didnt you just make an account then " and my response to that is " I dont know "
If I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand. Oh, and by the way, allow me to be the first to extend the traditional ESB welcome: SHUT THE **** UP NOOB:bananamaniac
Basically, I like watching two dudes beat the living hell out of each other.... and aesthetically speaking, I think it's the best looking combat sport/martial art out there so I enjoy watching it above all fighting arts. There's more reasons I could give, but that's simplifying it as much as I can.
It's like a stunning hooker; you know she's gonna break your heart but you just keep coming back for more.
boxing is sport in its rawest form. The sport where every ability comes into play. You take 2 athletes, put them in the ring against each other, and say "which one of you is better than the other". Intelligence, stamina, heart, strength, skill, training, power, speed, toughness, height, reach, and much much more. Everything comes into play and everything is crucial. There is no other sport like it. MMA is fun but too deregulated to the point where luck becomes a much more important factor IMO. Also its kind of a cop off of boxing and has less history for the moment. Anyways there's something about 1 on 1 sports that other sports just don't have. My 2nd favorite sport is tennis, but there are in my opinion far more elements that come into play in boxing.
I had been here for 2 years before creating an account.. WHats the point insulting people for that?:tired
Ross "The Boss" Minter hands Furious Freddy Curiel his ass round after round after round. With 45 seconds left in the fight, Freddy is trapped on the ropes. His face looks like somebody took a brick to it, and you're wondering if he is going to make it out of the fight without brain damage. All of a sudden, a guy who hasn't scored a KO in 4 years lands a right hand from hell. Minter flies across the ring, and it's OVAAAAH! Andy Lee is hot. He's on his way to a deal with Top Rank, and a fight with Kelly Pavlik. They hand pick an opponent to make him look good on TV, and Brian Vera beats 7 shades of **** out of the young hopeful. HBO decides to make Edison Miranda a big star. They look around, and see the perfect opponent, and Kelly Pavlik comes out and beats Miranda like he stole something. Everyone thinks Pacman has lost his mind, but he ends up destroying Delahoya. Boxing is the theatre of the unexpected. Ya gotta love that!
