Why do you think Canelo isn't better liked?

pondering all this silliness got me thinking. lets say beve turned down the fight cause he was committed. i think at that time, before canelo fought kovalev, he could have beat him. what if that time has passed, what if canelo works him today, with his new found confidence and adjustments in technique? once his career is done, would it have been better to pay some step aside money, beat the face of boxing, and then continue ruling 175? would getting beat now prove it was a bad decision?

 

I love how Canelo said Kov was the better LtHW of the two (Beter) at the time.
