Why do you think Canelo isn't better liked?

Sounds like you need some lessons on how to score a boxing match. I hate to break it to you but GGG failed to beat Canelo x2.

 

I think the perception that there are elements behind the scenes making sure the odds are stacked in his favour haven't helped.

The fact he was caught with stuff in his system he shouldn't and was barely inconvenienced by the "ban".

The dubious judges scoring against GGG the first time.

The fact he seems unwilling to fight anywhere other than one or two American venues.

The slightly "stage managed" feel to his multiple weight class championships (joke Rocky Fielding, useless Smith, shot Kovalev) and the cherry picking of deficient opponents to flatter this claim.
(In other words, fight a legit elite LHW if you want to claim to be a legit LHW...you know, that sort of thing)

His reluctance/inability to speak English (which, to be fair, isn't really his fault. The man is Mexican and speaks Spanish, and is pretty much in a Spanish speaking bubble in the U.S...but he still made the effort to learn English even though it has zero affect on his bottom line if he doesn't).

I don't think any of these have endeared him to some boxing fans.

I actually agree with another poster who said they actually found the man much more interesting once he let us see his personality a bit more and spoke English.

Canelo is actually quite funny, seems quite humble, and clearly lives and breathes boxing.

That's my take, at any rate.

 

Canelo don't deserve to be ahead in the series vs GGG , so he will never going to get credit, deal with it.

 

You need to deal with what happened and the fact that he lost. I don't have to deal with anything, I recognize what happened and who won.

I didn’t like him sucker punching Solis but other than that, I have nothing against him.

 

He made excuses for why he tested positive for PED'S.

 

Again, he will never get credit. It would have been better for his career if the right guy got the decisions, then Canelo would be more liked by more than just his fans, who will take a win any way they can get it.

 

He doesn't need your credit. The right guy got the decision. The first match was too close to call, the rematch left no doubt as to who the better man won. You fail to recognize what happened, that's your problem not mine. GGG fought well but he didn't rise to the occasion and prove he was the better man. GGG fell short of expectations and Canelo took advantage landing far more significant flush impactful punches in both matches.

 

If Canelo was on ppv i would never watch him unless he fought GGG. I only watch him because i have DAZN. When Canelo said after the Mayweather fight that he will fight only on PPV from that day forward, that was a turn off. What a diva thing to say.

Contaminated Meat in Mexico is recognized by the Drug Testing community as a legitimate reason for testing positive. His haters want to pretend it was doping because they don't want to deal with the objective reality of what happened.
