Why do you think Ward will never be a superstar like Floyd?

I'm not talking about P4P status, I'm talking about selling tickets and PPV's, about being known by hardcore fans and casual fans alike, about being a superstar like Pac or Floyd.

It should be clear by now that Ward will never be a superstar, he'll never sell anything close to a million PPV's, heck, I dont see him ever headlining a PPV unless a REAL draw like Chavez Jr decides to fight him and to sell the fight for him

Yeah, Ward has been accused many times of being a stay at home disgrace, but there's a good reason for him to fight at home besides the hometown advantage..the guy is NOT a draw he can only sell tickets in Oakland where he can convince all his friends, relatives and bros in christ to come to watch him.

It's funny because he's already american, black, and rules a division, those traits alone should be advantageous to propel someone into superstardom but doesn't seem to be enough with Ward

what do you think is the main reason behind this?

you're a ****in' idiot. if Tim Tebow can make a bunch of dumb christians watch his shitty games, Andre Ward can get the same fanbase to watch his fights.

Ward's ceiling is much higher than Floyd. FACT.

Ok, I realize I should have added ¨in the eyes of many people¨ at the end of one of the options

Sorry, the correct option should be:

Because his fighting style is boring and dirty in the eyes of many people

Pretty sure the Ward fans find him exciting even if most people thinks otherwise

Ward will never get a fight with DLH, and this wholesome christian bull**** is boring as ****. Like Ward, Floyd doesn't have a fighting style that excites the casuals, but at least he has the sense to know that burning $100 bills in clubs and slapping up baby mommas puts asses in seats.

first and foremost he is a good and decent human being - i.e. no villain status. second, his style appears not to be a draw, but if he ko'e people like he did dawson, he will become a star BUT HE NEEDS TO LEAVE CA for the big stage.

he's a great fighter but he's boring in and out of the ring, especially to casuals. look at B-Hop! Dude was one of the best for over a decade and never got star status.

Too much of that god BS. At least Floyd is a hypocrite about it, where Ward lives the life, and that is just, well, boring.

The comp in his weight class & above is not popular in the states.
The Middleweights have more name, But Ward himself said he will be moving to 175lbs soon.

Lack of comp would be the reason. He already wiped out SMW.

Ward will never get the fights that Floyd did. Floyd had Corrales, Castillo,Gatti,Judah, and Oscar that built his superstar. Maybe if he had kept sweating down to 160 earlier in his career, he could have gotten an undefeated Pavlik and undefeated Taylor, which could have boosted his profile, but there just weren't any superstars north of Oscar that could have gotten him the recognition.

    1. There is no Oscar Delahoya for him to fight to make him a household name

    2. He can't cherry pick his comp or make sub standard opponents into a PPV fight.

Too likable, and his style is pure science like Mayweather and Lewis. If there's one thing I've learned about fans and their attitudes towards their favorite athletes is, as much as we may despise some athletes for whatever reason, we love our champions to be FLAWED. I liken Ward to the K Bros., very likable but does everything right in and out of the ring and this is an imperfect world. I'm not saying Ward should act like a douchebag, because that's obviously not in his makeup, I just believe you have too be a little over the edge to really draw people in, the guy just does everything right in a sport that's very dark.

I think he'll be a superstar because he's the most skilled fighter in the game.
