Why does a guy like GGG get a pass for fighting Tureano Johnson?'

He didn't have enough money behind him to unify. Now he offers $3.2 million for a belt, so only complete cowards like BJS will pass on that. Hopefully, BJS will lose his belt soon.

Canelo has to fight him or drop the belt in September, so WBO will be the only belt left.

That remains to be seen. Sulaiman stated before the Cotto-Canelo fight that the winner HAD to fight Gennady immediately afterwards. He's been backpedaling from that comment ever since. I wouldn't be shocked whatsoever if the fight between him and Alvarez never materialized, and that Sulaiman and his organization will allow Canelo to keep his WBC title.

Boxing doesn't have the most reputable of organizations. This is well known.

There you go again. Golovkin and Ward are fighting two division apart from each other, about 12-15 pounds apart. Golovkin is ducking no one. If he wants to fight bigger guys like Chavez Jr. or Froch and give them advantages, it´s his business and should be applauded.

His resume is what it is, but it´s not his fault if Canelo, Cotto, Martinez, Sturm, Abraham, Sylvester, Barker or Saunders want to fight him. You can´t reason your hate based on how other fighters are ducking him. Do you seriously think Golovkin doesn´t want those big fights? Or would he duck a challenge?

    Please stop.

I'm neither here nor there on Golovkin or Ward as fighters. But it is hilarious reading some of the comments on this board on the matter. Fighter A makes a half hearted offer for a fight when fighter B is in the final stages of signing a unification bout. As part of the deal B, who fights in the division below and is not big even at that weight, would have to move up to an unnatural weight class and fight on A's turf where the officials will let him hold, rabbit punch, head butt and all sorts of other dubious tactics. In other words all the dice loaded in his favour. Yet fighter B makes a counter offer for a fight on a (slightly) more level playing field and A promptly runs a mile. Yet it's B who's apparently ducking? An example of the old saying that if you come out with the same nonsense often enough, some idiot will start to believe it!!!

if golovkin fought and beat ward, these same guys would crucify golovkin for the accomplishment." he fought a shot, rusty ward", etc.

@plank...I can assure you he would get full credit for beating ward...a ton of it

selina....no he shouldn't be applauded for attempting to cherrypick froch or chavez.....if he says hes gonna do 168 everyone should be game....its one division north of the division hes spent his ENTIRE career in...ggg isn't some mw who stared at welter or jr middle...hes a career mw

ward is two divisions north? ya now he is...but when he was coming off his layoff(when he wanted to fight ggg) he hadn't fought above 168...he was a career 168 and willing to squeeze on more in before moving on.....

you guys just keep making up bs excuses for your boy....if ggg were someone else you wouldn't stand for your own excuses

if yer fine with gggs resume and legacy being squat...then let him go on his path....otherwise don't tell me how great he is when he beats up a weak division and makes no moves...his resume is garbage and he had a chance to change that....
