Golden Boy, Gary Shaw, and HBO are trying to do everything possible to secure WBC/WBO champion Timothy Bradley for a proposed HBO televised fight on July 23. The financial package has been raised from $1.3 million to $1.4 million.

To add more sugar to the plate, Khan is even willing to give Bradley a bigger percentage of the UK pay-per-view revenue. All of the involved parties are waiting to see if the larger financial outlook is enough to entice Bradley back to the table.

    What's Tim thinking of?

    Your thoughts.....

If he were able to beat Bradley, Khan would have three of the four light welterweight titles and that would help him get bigger fights in the future and might even make Khan a PPV star in the United States. Bradley is less dangerous than guys like Maidana, Breidis Prescott and Judah, all of who punch with a lot of power.

All Tim needs to do is look good in his next fight, and the stars are lined up for him to land a Pacquaio fight. That next fight doesn't have to be against Khan, and I doubt he'd risk it with a Pacman Payday on the horizon.

And if the Pac fight falls through, he'll use Khan as a fallback option. It's good business for Bradley, not necessarily the greatest outcome for the fans.

Team Khan perhaps want to be undisputed at 140 asap then throw their hat into the at 147. GBP is down with this too because they know Khan/Mayweather is so much easier to make than Pacquiao/Mayweather.

Bradley is thinking he can get a much easier fight for a smaller paycut due to the HBO contract for the Alexander fight. He wants to save the Khan payday for maybe at the end of the year if he doesnt win the Pacquiao sweepstakes.

Khan can beat Bradley. Bradley knows this. Hence the current situation.

All this talk of Bradley doesn't want X amount of money is all BS.

Bradley can talk the talk, but he can't walk the walk :-(

Probably because they know they ****ed up. He's an undefeated fighter, Khan holds significant advantages over him if he fights him (not saying he's a better fighter than Bradley, more height and reach than anything), and he has a belt that would greatly help Khan's legacy.

Bradley doesn't fear guys. He's ready to step up and prove his worth, I got that feeling from watching the buildup to the Alexander fight. He's **** at trash talking, but anyone who thinks Bradley fears Khan is very silly indeed, nobody fears Khan, and for good reason. Every fighter has a chance with him, they know that. And it's not like Bradley is running low on confidence for any reason, why should he?

And yet, days before signing for the fight he pulls out on the fight that HE wanted?

Try to reverse the situation. Imagine if Khan was calling out Bradley and at the last minute pulled out, and you'll see where I'm coming from.

Bradley doesn't want a fight this hard this early. He may not fear Khan, but he knows Khan is no easy opponent.

Why run around saying "Khan stop runnin ! Let's fight!" when you're going to run away yourself :verysad

Simple, money. Research it a little, and look at Khan's last fight, notice how hard it was to pull a fight together? His whole career has been him talking about wanting to fight this guy and when it comes to crunch time, the contract is never signed. I blame Golden Boy moreso than Khan, as he isn't offering the money. I hate the money excuse as much as anyone, but the news now is Bradley/Khan might be back on because Bradley is being offered more money. That's the only issue in this negotiation, Bradley isn't scared of Khan, that's silly.

This whole nature of people judging guys and saying they're scared of fighters is getting a bit ridiculous. Okay, you have a point with someone like Mayweather because he never stated he wanted the fight, but just piled on the excuses. However, why are people continually saying guys like Bradley, Haye and whoever else are scared because the fight doesn't get signed? For **** sake, they've talked the talk, and stunningly, those fights are back on. Why are people so quick to discount the negotiation issue and instead go straight to "HURRRR HE'S SCARED". It's boxing, they punch eachother in the face, and they're talking about fighting eachother all the time. Very few are scared, and Bradley isn't one of them anyway.

What also has to stop is this automatic "HURRRRR IT'S KHAN'S FAULT COZ HE'S CHEAP" crap because everyone knows Khan doesn't decide how much his opponent gets paid for HBO fights, HBO does, hence the reason HBO was the one that increased the offer to $1.4M. Khan only increased Bradley's share of UK PPVs, which is a paltry sum compared to the total payout HBO is offering because Khan screwed up his relationship with Sky.

Shaw, Bradley's promoter, went as far as offering Bradley an 80/20 split between fighter/promoter just to get Bradley to fight, and even said that "I can't work for free !" after all the pressure from Bradley.

So its not Khan who's being a cheap *******, its BRADLEY.

    Get your facts straight :-(

Look, I just said it's not Khan negotiating these deals, it's his team. Read the post again. Everybody he's challenged refused the opportunity because of money. McCloskey said no for **** sake, and he would be biting at the chance. Seems a bit fishy to me to say McCloskey, Bradley, Peterson, Marquez, Morales and god knows who else is cheap when it always seems to be the opposite side saying the money's not good enough, and pray tell what does Khan always say?

    "They wanted too much money."

Shocker, all of these boxers think you're not offering much, could it be that you're not offering them enough?

I'm going on articles that I've read, you're going on "Bradley's the cheap one, not Khan" because he, like other fighters have said Khan isn't offering enough. What ****ing fighter challenges another then when it's time for negotiations says "LOLJK" and decides not to fight? People are so ****ing delusional on this website.

Flash Jab, you seem like a logical bloke. Please try to understand. Khan only has the ability to determine his opponent's earnings in the UK, not in America.

With title fights between champions, its HBO that determines both party's earnings, not Khan.

Heck, here is what Tim's own management had to say about it:

Well I just don't think Bradley is scared of Khan, and think the issue is simply money. I don't know who's in charge of the purse, but I know it isn't Khan. However, he's the guy who's saying "they wanted too much money", and its just too weird for me to say all these guys are cheap rather than Khan's negotiation team are trying to get fighters on the cheap a little bit. I don't know who's actually offering these sums, maybe like you said, it's HBO and they're paying less than the guy would want. It's possible, considering HBO don't have a whole lot of faith in Bradley, especialy considering the Alexander fight stunk the place out and didn't sell well.
