Why does Amir Khan and his team wanted Tim Bradley so bad?

Ye,as soon as Khan gives Bradley 60% of the UK PPV we will have a fight.Bradley deserves every penny because he's coming with two belts which he got from dangerous opponents. After that Khan will get his second defeat and mourn about how a head butt ended the fight.

Stupid question. Bradley has 2 belts and the winner will be looked at as the man at 140lbs!

Khan is the cash cow everybody knows this. Look at McCloskey, he was fighting for £20,000 per fight MAX as soon as he knew he was fighting Khan he was rejecting offeres of up to £100,000, this is the same McCloskey who was fighting in Leisure complexes all his life. Now put yourself in Khan's (or Team Khans) shoes, you are giving McCloskey a voluntary defence therefore raising his profile and then suddenly you get demands coming from his side, now I'm up for negotiations but these guys were treating McCloskey like a superstar.

Same again with Bradley, he fought Alexander (credit to Bradley for that) but the bottom line is he cannot sell tickets!! These were the fighters that were considered #1 & #2 in the division. Yet 2 weeks before the fight they had only sold 350+ tickets. So again suddenly these fighters think they are worth more just because they are fighting Khan. They are under an illusion, it is Khan who increases their value.

I am not by any means discrediting their boxing talent but only their value in monetary terms. So I guess it is all about the money!!!

He wants to become the best at 140, all that is left is beating Bradley to prove that. He then wants to move up to 147. He's just had a meaningless fight at 140 that didn't down well, so I can understand his urgency to go straight for the big fight. He's partly to blame for this too, the Bradley fight could've happened instead of McCloskey, Bradley was keen to even fight him in England in April, but he wanted an easy fight. Boy did that blow up in his face.

He knows he can beat Bradley. By doing that, Khan elevates his status and opens up opportunities for high paying fights.

He wants to be the best at his weight class period. If he beats bradley then he becomes the best jr welterweight in the world.

I would love to see Khan/Maidana II.

Would also make more money IMO :D

But its a good thing all of this info about Bradley is coming out in the open. Shows how much of a tool he really is when everyone is doing everything in their power to make this fight happen.

If Bradley doesn't take the 1.4 mill and 50% of the ppv Khan offered, then I believe steadfastly in what I originally thought, Bradley wants to sign with TR and wait out his contract with Shaw. He still will get the guaranteed 1.2 million from HBO to fight a softer opponent and he wants Pac I believe after JMM, or he might even get him next if JMM blows his tune up. I don't think Bradley is afraid of Khan at all, I'm not saying he would win but I think he's more caught up in dollars than fear.
Khan knows he isn't in the Pac sweepstakes, he needs this fight more, he wants those titles because it could potentially set up a big money fight with Mayweather where the PPV dollars could be large, and sellable because Khan would be undisputed champ, bringing lots of British fans and Floyd bringing lots of American fans, I could see that fight doing 1.5 million buys, at least no less than Pac-Mosley did for sure.

I like Khan, but 50% of the PPV revenue will probably be about £150

Khan is not box office over here

Absolutely, they just want his title. Golden Boy is building Khan as it's future ppv star. Tim must be smart here, he knows it's his last 1M paycheck and it's not just worth 1.4M. He'll just have to wait til his contract expires next month and join the big Pacquiao payday(5M) like JMM and Mosley.
