I think he comes off as flashy and has a big mouth but I believe that he's just a competitive fella. He seems like a decent guy that donates money to people in need and speaks on issues, but he does have some good boxing skills, despite some flaws defensively and his chin, I was watching the madiana and canelo fight and man he's got some serious speed.
I did a lengthly thread on it the other day: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/appreciating-amir-khan.589260/ Khan is an annoying character and people have even less tolerance for annoying characters than for truly evil ones. It's weird how some people submit to this shameful kind of hate.
Perhaps it's because he sometimes runs his mouth, but SOB runs his mouth, cheats like hell, owns the judges, referee and boxing commission, hits his opponent in the testicles and his personal referee stops the fight, SOB can't lose with this crap............. Khan is very fast, he should go back down to 140..........
Khan gives 100 percent in the ring and most respect him for that. I think he kinda annoys people with his delusional self assessment, but more power to him if it helps him get going after being blasted so many times.
Kell Brook is more delusional, less talented, far less accomplished and for some reason he's a forum darling???? Kell Brook has 1 controversial win that is decent and every other time he stepped up he quit lol!!!! What kind of a forum is this when a bloke like Kell is loved and Amir is hated ffs when will sanity prevail?
I read an interesting article in the Daily Mail claiming all the internet based negative comments regarding Khan are actually paid online trolls funded by the GGF(Glass and Glazing Federation)..which represents the industry in the UK. According to the article the association between that material and Khan's chin has seen a 45% drop in exports of British made glass products since 2008. It is the the intention of the GGF to sideline Khan for good through bad press. Supposedly the GGF threw all their resources at a much bigger threat from Liverpool whom the article did not name. Thats why Khan has lingered for so long in the sport.
Khan has never been in a bad fight. Would have been Floyds toughest fight over the past 5 years. Floyd ducked him and went 1 - 1 with Maidana.
Jr has only just begun his career, Brook is looking to make his last cash out, ffs come back when jr has been pro for 13 years!!!! 13 years and 1 good win and that was controversial at that!
Khan had everything he needed to do well when he turned pro and he squandered it and turned fans against him with his behaviour. He has bags of natural ability and with his Olympic success was given a platform to be a star, look what Joshua did with that platform and compare that to Khan. First his initial pick as a trainer was quite frankly laughable. He chose someone he could control and it cost him his 0. That was an early warning sign to many that his career wasn't going to pan out. I found his initial pick as trainer frustrating but forgivable. But overall he's squandered his talent. When he first teamed up with Hunter, Hunter mentioned he was surprised Khan didn't train between camps, if the average Joe can pop down the gym each week you'd expect a professional athlete to do the same at the very least. Khan's inability to learn from previous mistakes and inability to reach his potential comes down to his own laziness, which isn't something to admire in a fighter. Then there was the driving incident where he ruined a mans life, appeared contrite and was given a non custodial sentence and he then just weeks later was caught speeding at ridiculous speeds. He clearly didn't give a **** that he plowed through a man and ruined his life. Uncheckable ego, arrogance and delusion of his own self worth is probably what annoys most people. He's the British Andre Ward, everytime he opens his mouth or posts a tweet he says something that loses him fans or potential fans. He just isn't likable, the British public like their sports stars to be relatable, like Hatton, Bruno, Joshua. Khan persona or the persona he tries to portray isn't the everyman he's more flash, always suited and daper trying to put on airs and graces. Ducking Brook. It's been a fight he's avoided for years, early on it was understandable, what had Brook done and Khan always had better options. But even now when he isn't relevant and Brook is now a decent draw and has proven himself he still doesn't want the fight. Then there's his extra marital antics. Cheating on your wife isn't going to ingratiate you with the average person. Then of course for a dumb few there is his race and religion. Suffice to say Khan has given people many reasons to dislike him most of which where down to his own choices.
I for one doesn't dislike Amir but he's not my favorite either. To be fair though I like the fact that he did not duck Canelo plus he has some notable wins in - Alexander, Collazo, Algeri, Julio Diaz, CArlosMolina, Zab Judah, Paulie Malanagi, ,Marcos Maidana and M.A. Barrera. That's not a bad resume IMO.
Explain how Brook is more delusional? Khan actually said "I have one of the best chins in boxing" The two most delusional fighters are Eubank Jr and Khan, who happen to be your favourites LMAO. Delusional fighters are followed by delusional fans usually, case proven.
