Andy Ruiz - KO Victory over Anthony Joshua
Andy Ruiz - Points Defeat to Joseph Parker

Anthony Joshua - KO loss to Andy Ruiz
Anthony Joshua - Points Victory over Joseph Parker

Joseph Parker - Points Victory over Andy Ruiz
Joseph Parker - Points Defeat to Anthony Joshua

Can someone clarify why Ruiz is now being labelled by many the best boxer in the division when he lost on points to Joseph Parker, a guy who has L's on his record against Dillian Whyte and also LOST TO AJ?

Was it the nature of the victory that people are giving him so much credit for?

I appreciate he lost to him in his last fight, but AJ has KO victories over Wladimir Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin, Dillian Whyte, Carlos Takam, Dominic Breazeale and points victory over Joseph Parker. Yet now he is being rated below Ruiz, who other than the Joshua victory has lost to Joseph Parker and has an RTD victory over Dimitrenko?

This then leads to the follow up question of why many aren't labelling Joseph Parker the top fighter in the division as he beat Ruiz and arguably has the better victories on this resume.

Why does Ruiz beating 'The Guy' make him the best in the division

But Joseph Parkers victory over 'The New The Guy' not count for anything?

Because people have short memories and are reactionary

It's the same reason beating Luke Campbell makes you an ATG now, boxing fans only care what you did for them this week.

Let it settle down and we will see where ruiz and Parker rank after its all said and done.

Since losing to Parker, Ruiz beat AJ. Since beating Parker, AJ lost to Ruiz. Since beating Ruiz, Parker has gone on to lose against AJ and Whyte.

Recent results should have a bigger impact on current ranking than older results. A result in 2016 doesn't really matter too much as a lot has changed since then.

It's because he's arguably the most skilled of the bunch and he has a granite chin.

People will look for anything to have a reason.

I think Ruiz defeated Parker though, taking a few looks and rewatching the fight a few times , the difference is AJ won easily and Ruiz really had to work for every shot landed .

It's not crediting Ruiz more then trying to discredit what is still the best resume by FAR which belongs to Joshua.

The Same won't have e the same energy if/ when Joshua continues winning and If we brought up actual losses not counted well , Fury lost in his 10th fight and Wilder in his 40th if we're using correct scoring which don't matter the guy fighting the top guys regularly is AJ so yea official loss happened to him.and it's mainly everyone ran away and had a guy most said was fat bum now he's great ?. o_O
