Why does Andy Ruiz think he deserves to only fight current or previous belt holders?

He keeps calling out Wilder, AJ and Usyk saying no one wants to fight him when he could be fighting boxers like Hrgovic, Dubois, Zhang, Efe, Sanchez, Joyce, etc

Fat turd should stay in his lane. Beat a panic attacked AJ who was trying to finish him off in style on his US debut. AJ dropped him early, got too keen swinging for the fences at a fat blob that he thought was prime for the taking and got caught with a punch that ****ed his equilibrium and the fight itself

Since then all he has done was beat an ancient Ortiz and got rocked to his boots by shot old Arreola.

He's still riding on the aj win in 2019, fooling everyone into thinking he's a top 10 fighter when it couldn't be further from the truth.

Aj is/was hype job. Ruiz beating him means nothing good

Man the hate Ruiz gets on this forum is UNREAL!

whether you like him or not he is proven and tested. Solid boxer, solid skills/power/speed/durability/boxing IQ.

complete package even though he looks like a cabbage.

I rate Ruiz. He deserves big shots but still wouldn’t mind seeing him smash through the rest of these guys.

Where do you rate him? Top ten, fifteen?

His last three fights going back to 2019...

Looked awful against a 43 year old Ortiz, winning by scores of 114–111, 114–111 and 113–112.

Prior to that he got dropped by 40 year old Arreola who had six losses on his record and was beyond shopworn.

Came into the Joshua rematch obese, or grossly out of shape if you prefer and lost nearly every single round.

He probably lives in an echochamber the effects of which are amplified by he's probably high af 24/7. They have good smoke in California.

I rate him top 5. I thought he looked fantastic against Ortiz. Always felt he was in full control and had Ortiz hurt bad and dropped several times. Did well to deal with a highly skilled, experienced south paw when we see so many boxers struggle with dangerous south paws except that at times Ruiz got over hesitant and started overthinking the situation in some
    Rounds.

That delayed the the outcome when I feel he could have closed the show early but was really cautious of making a mistake against Ortiz at times.

In the Joshua rematch Joshua played it ultra safe and didnt want to engage. Literally running circles all night avoiding an exchange with the dangerous ruiz and showed lack of heart/mustard.

As opposed to Dillian Whyte for example who got sent to the shadow realm by Povetkin but still got stuck in from round 1 in the rematch fully engaging and taking the fight to Povetkin not caring if a repeat KO happened. Thats guts right there, that’s entertainment and warrior mentality.

in the few occasions where Joshua tagged Ruiz, ruiz was unphased and smiling. At the end of the day Ruiz took AJs soul and came in completely out of shape for the rematch after getting too comfy with his prize money and championship belts going to his head. Still had AJ shook the whole 12 rounds.

I think his demolition job of AJ and how he shut down Ortiz shows he is a very dangerous contender with hand speed, power and durability to cause problems for all top heavyweights.

Arreola caught Ruiz, fair enough but I see it as an anomaly or lucky punch. Heavyweight boxing anyone can get tagged and get hurt, anyone who has sparred in boxing knows its easy to get dazed when you get clocked by a punch you wasnt prepared for or didnt see foming no matter who is punching you. This is a data point I ignore because we saw Ruiz take AJs best and Ortiz’ best punches.

Yes it is. Many here are like lemmings and like getting on some bandwagon. AJ is "shot"... Fury is a "duck" (re Usyk), etc.

LIke I just posted in a new thread on Wilder. They should've offered Andy a better split. Maybe not 50-50, but better than what I saw. What's Ruiz done lately? What the hell has Wilder done lately besides KO1 a way past it Helenius?? Versus the best fighter he fought Wilder is 0-2-1 and likely 0-3 if not for those KDs in their 1st bout :shakehead:

He's not fought in over a year now and you do wonder if he's serious about his career at all anymore, having already made a ton of money.

But then he's currently embroiled in a messy divorce as his wife found out he had been cheating, so maybe that's why his career is currently on hold and he won't fight unless it's a major fight.

Boxers get paid wait too much. There is no need for andy to get in shape or fight fir the title. He can eat snickers all day, count his money and wait for the titleshot. There is no urgency when you have enough money and riding the aj win in your mind.
