It's not harsh to specifically call out a fighter who does what other boxers do when they've been hit with a good shot??

You're far too emotionally invested in Anthony Joshua and people's perception of him - it genuinely doesn't matter nearly as much as you think it does.

You assume too much about what I feel. I would defend Fury, Wilder or anyone else if I thought what was being said was unfair or inaccurate.

It;s more the stupidity of what is being said, and I think the things said about Joshua are often unwarranted and stupid.

Whenever the kickboxer Ray Sefo got hurt he'd drop his hands, smile, and invite free shots on his chin.

Lots of fighters do it. Psychological thing. You probably already know this though and just want to claim Joshua is strange or whatever. Not a hugely compelling thread regardless.

Sometimes it’s an acknowledgment of a good shot that a fighter got caught with and is trying to play it off.

Sometimes it’s an uh oh that one hurt.

Other times it’s a is that all you got thing.

Feeling embarrassed they smile to cover it. I remember Margarito smiling when Mosley busted him down, looked like a mixture of embarrassment and "damn didn't expect that".

You are wrong, a lot of boxers do some stupid things when something doesn't go their way.

    - Lennox Lewis was smiling widely at Hasim Rahman right before he got KTFoed by his right hand

    - David Tua tried to mimick Chris Byrd's style putting his hands down because he was frustrated by schooling

    - Kubrat Pulev stood at one leg and put his tongue out after the first knockdown against Wladimir Klitschkj (and did something similar when Joshua hurt him in the 3rd round)

    - Shannon Briggs often kept talking while being pummelled. Especially funny was the monent when he told Jameel McCline he would knock him out right now, but got knocked down himself few seconds later. And in many other fights he kept talking and/or shaking his head after he got rocked or hurt

And... what about Naseem Hamed? He has done things like that in much bigger proportion... Or Ricardo Mayorga?

Oh, and how one can forget Tyson Fury?

There literally were hundreds/thousands of fighters doing things like that over the history. Most probably did it because of frustration, others because they thaught it would befuddle their opponents. But there is nothing new in what Joshua is doing

You've never seen any other fighter do this before? How long have you been watching boxing, a week? I suspect this is just another "lets all hate on Joshua" thread.

He's embarrassed. He's the alpha guy, in his mind, and in his mind he feels the audience also feels this. So he's embarrassed at being hurt. He was mortified vs Ruiz and basically had a panic attack through embarrassment!

I think of it like this. If you're the big beautiful cool man at school, and very self conscious too, and some blob beats you up in the school locker hall. You'd be mortified, too.

Not a Joshua hater, but clearly embarrassment.

The problem when AJ does it is you can see the fear flash through his eyes

He's trying to look alpha but his body language betrays that and makes him look beta
