while Canelo gets humiliated for avoiding GGG for just 2 years

Beterbiev and Bivol have been in the same weight class their entire careers, both became champions in 2017. yet their fight didn't happen until 2024, during that time frame Beterbiev was relentlessly chasing and beating champion after champion while Bivol did nothing special. It wasn’t until 2024, when Beterbiev was 40 years old, that Bivol finally decided to face him. In contrast, Canelo actually had move up a weight class to fight GGG and GGG was quite younger than Beterbiev Canelo was blasted for taking time to fight GGG, yet Bivol’s much longer ducking gets swept under the rug

Bivol never ducked Beterbiev. He always wanted the fight, but selfish promoters and the WBC blocked it. But thanks to Turki, it finally happened (twice).

And Canelo fought Golovkin too, twice when Gennady was still in his prime. He never ducked him.

However, the Charlo brothers avoided both Canelo and GGG.

Beterbiev seemed to be under the impression he was being aged. Who knows what the truth is. Neither seems like the ducking type.

dont know if its ducking, but they made no effort, or asked for, a fight with the other. they were both fine with not knowing who the best in the world at 175 was. so they never found out. we do know who the better fighter is today. no telling who it was back then.

Its because Canelo got the benefit of judges both times. Whereas Bivol legitimately lost the first decision. Sometimes its better to lose than to get the gift.

Canelo is the A side. If he wants to make any fight he can make it. Plus being the A side naturally brings more criticism.

You are out to lunch if you think Bivol didnt avoid Beterbiev. It is no coincidence it took 7 years for the fight to happen.

This is the moat honest. Canelo is the face of boxing so the standards and expectations are higher. And to be honest that ia fair.

Well, robbing GGG and immediately popping dirty for steroids after leaves a bad taste in the mouths of fans. Of course we’re all glad that Bivol and Beterbiev finally fought, but in all honesty, it was way overdue. They were clearly the best two light heavyweights for years and there was too much time without a single negotiation. With boxing though, people are going to pick and choose who to hate.

Bob Arum stopped their fight. After that, the WBC blocked their fight. Blame Top Rank.

Canelo said things like 160 is too big for him and went to 168 and 175 afterwards, no? Plus the beneficial judging and no rematches for the likes of Lara worsens what people think of those times in hindsight, I reckon.

Because Canelo is a total diva.

Bivol actually fought Beterbiev twice and soon to be three times. Also, Beterbiev was fresh off a very good win against Callum Smith.

    One guy unified 3 belts

The other was happy to face people like Craig Richards, Malik Zinad and Lyndon Arthur......
