I feel that this is the one thing that is missing from Kell's repertoire. He does everything else really well, but he neglects the body against guys and I don't know why. If he added body punching to his shot selection, he would be so, so much better and more rounded as a fighter. He goes for the head a lot and he sometimes leaves himself open to the body shot, which will catch up to him in a fight against a good body puncher as he relies on his power, because his stamina isn't the best, though the latter is improving since he's got a conditioning coach.
maybe he is just to accurate to the head if its not broke dont fix it and all he was jabbing porter to the body i noticed
Against someone like Rios, he's going to need to attack the body as well as the head as Rios is going to keep on him the whole fight, and will likely absorb his power too. I hope Dominic Ingle starts bringing attention to this area of kell's game soon.
He doesn't throw any kind of hook to body or head. He deals very much in straight shots unless someone is gone and he is trying to take them out. That is definitely a limitation of his as it makes him a whole lot more predictable.
I know at the Ingle Gym they do a lot of body only sparring, so it's not a limitation of his ability, just how he and his trainer thinks is the best way to fight.
