Why does Canelo get credit for fighting GGG even though he clearly ducked him in 2016?

The setup was beautiful for them to fight after Canelo beat Cotto and GGG beat Lemiuex. Even after Canelo ko'd Khan and GGG ko'd Dominic Wade it was perfect. But Canelo wanted no parts and decided to just wait for GGG to look vulnerable against Kell Brook and Danny Jacobs. Now all of sudden he was ready.

No I don't agree with you.

Not everything is black and white.

If you claim that Canelo ducked GGG, then to avoid looking like a hypocrite fan boy fruit you will have to admit GGG ducked Jermall Charlo and Sergeyi Derevyenchenko.

It takes time to build a roided mw physique for a 155 pounder. Cut Clenelo some slack, Jeez.

So if you say. Canelo ducked him mandatory GGG when the WBC ordered it .then you have to say ggg ducked charlo when the wbc ordered it as well

More like Canelo was buying time. He (they) fought a great fight, but G got screwed. Disgusting scoring but at least we got to see elite level boxing and an elite level war. And those 24 rounds pretty much made Canelo a complete fighter, so from his pov the timing was perfect.

You can do both. He absolutely avoided him before, which is shitty. He did eventually fight him, then rematched him right away, which is good. Then fought Fielding, which was shitty. But is now fighting Jacobs, which is really good.

So I'd say the good has leveled out the bad in his more recent times.

Canelo waited until Golovkin got older. At Golovkin's age, every year matters.
