He ducked Pacquaio, you fight to fight the fighters at the top level, and make the most money doing so

Pacquaio didnt want no parts of a 4th JMM fight and Arum was damn near begging Cotto to accept, it could of happened, now a rematch is caput and that money isn't there anymore

Are you really about to defend this dumb ass decision

If Pacman wanted to fight him all he had to do was make 154 like everyone else. Why the catchweights? Hell he was 147 for Marquez and ge looked ripped. He can do 154 if he wanted, but one left hook by Margarito scares him and *******s excuse is he's too small and just "experimenting" at 154. He never could have the balls of Roberto Duran who said "Eh **** it" and went balls out against the best 154lbers and 160lbers the world had to offer. Yes he got ko'd by Hearns in the process, but he still made Hagler look bad and beat a legit champ in Barkley.

He didnt get beat up he won at least 4 rounds, if you think the rematch wouldn't have been a big money fight I guess you think JMM vs pac 5 nobody would be interested in seeing:patsch

Why did Cotto ask Margarito for a catchweight people like to ignore that, he wanted 150 but settled for 153, thats chump **** right there for someone who fought fully at 154 and is the 154 champ

    Neither has Marquez.

Dont tell me you forgot how every manny fan boy would always say that their hero was very tiny for welterweights and how its incredible how he's beating up these much bigger men? :deal

    :hi:

and i guess Team Pac didn't know Ariza was Angel's student. :rofl

But hey, in the words of your hero: "Let the commisions do their job" :tong

Marg is a big guy who walks in the ring at 168-170...the catchweight was supposed to even both fighters as Cotto usually weighs in at 153. Now all Pacquiao had to do to make the fight with Miguel was accept it at 154. He could have come at whatever weight he desired while Cotto would have been comfortable making his weight too. BTW as long as Cotto and Manny dont retire, the rematch is not dead yet.

If my memory is correct, your timeline is wrong.

Before the Mayweather bout he had two options. Fight Pacquiao again, this time at 150lb catchweight, or fight Mayweather at 154lbs. He chose Mayweather, a new opponent with arguably greater rewards. He lost to Mayweather in a competitive bout.

And again, if my memory serves me well, the Pacquiao bout was not on offer after he lost to Mayweather. Mainly because he left Top Rank to set up the Mayweather bout, something you're praising Cotto for doing.

So, no. He did not duck Pacquiao for Trout.

Go bring up sources that the Pacquiao bout was on offer for Cotto after the Mayweather bout. I'll wait. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But I'm pretty sure I'm not.

He realized that the first time he accepted a catchweight he paid for it, he sure as hell wasn't going to do the same mistake again. If Pacquiao wants a fight at 154, he should fight at that weight with no catchweight demands. That's common sense and fair play, it's only ducking to ******s like you.
