It was offered but Cotto didnt like the contract so he declined. I think pac wanted a catchweight of 150 again.

This is all irrelevant, Cotto had way more choices than pac after the Floyd fight...Beating Trout would have garnered him more respect and money leading to a Canelo showdown. A fight that might still happen. It was no duck, had pac accepted the fight at 154 it would have been made.

Are you for real? Cotto DID get beat up and the fight wasn't even remotely close. As soon as Cotto was dropped, he was forced on the defensive from then and wasn't able to fight his usual fight. This is Cotto's weakness, if his opponent can overpower, hurt and back him off, he's done. A rematch would only make sense if Cotto was treated fairly on the scales with no bull**** catchweight demands. They didn't make a fair offer so he told them to **** off, simple. :deal

Why even start a thread if you aren't going to bother? Can you not debate? Why are you on a forum otherwise?

Takes two seconds to find a link.

Like I said, Cotto had left Top Rank to work with GBP, something you praise him for. I was wrong about the Pacquiao bout being on offer, here is Cotto's response to the offer.

He chose GBP over Arum's bull****. Yet he is ducking Pacquiao, someone he already fought and lost convincingly to.

Aye, I stand corrected (as my last post shows). I forgot about that offer. Wasn't really an offer, Cotto had bigger fish to fry (excuse the poor pun). Just shows Arum chasing rematch after rematch, or in other words, chasing the money. Saw the numbers Cotto-Mayweather did and wanted some of Cotto again, milking Pacquiao even more.

You clearly didn't get it then :-(

Pacquiao had already beaten him comprehensively, stopped him in the 12th in fact. It wasn't competitive. Not much to gain from a rematch. Working with Bob Arum again. Fighting at a catchweight again. Or, attempt to pick up the WBA belt and set up a bout with Canelo.

Fact is, Cotto had more options, same way he had more options when the bout was offered to him before the Mayweather bout.

If you think it's a duck, you know **** all. It seems you are the type to ignore certain sentences and just pick out what you want to read. I haven't seen one person agree with you yet, and that's probably why.

He's a bigger fish indeed. He's an up-comer who wants to fight at 154, not 150. Cotto showed serious balls for giving an up-comer a chance while no one else wanted to and Canelo has been running with his tail between his legs. If big names didn't give up-comers a chance, who will? Cotto was ready to make a rematch if they wanted it at 154, he already accepted the catchweight bull**** once and wasn't going to do so again. Are you seriously saying that Cotto would have made a better decision accepting a catchweight and cashing out rather than fighting comfortably and seriously?

Pac would not go above 150, Cotto wanted the full limit. He wanted a catchweight for Margarito, which was complete bull****. Only reason people gave him a pass was the thought of redemption for the wraps scandal. Pac had no redemption to get, therefore nobody gave him a pass for trying to fight Cotto at a catchweight again. We saw Pac beat on Cotto, no need to watch again unless Manny didn't have everything in his favor.

What happened had he beat Manny...................He'd be touted as a legend

He could have always fought Trout after he lossed once again

Did he duck it? Did Manny ever agree to meet him at the full 154lb limit where he was then campaigning?

But 150 is fine when he want to drain Margarito, Cotto is a small JWW he could make 147 if he tried

He made the decision to take on the p4p 1 fighter and make the most money he could

He then went to duck the p4p 2 fighter in Manny, and his next biggest payday, to lose vs a green fighter....now nothing

Mayweather must of gave him brain damage:patsch
