Why does Cotto get a pass for ducking a 2nd Manny fight

But just 1 fight back he requested to defend his SWW belt at 150, against a handicapped bum no less. What was he thinking?

He was thinking a lot like half the so called "p4p" champs... The hustle and the stupid 17 year old groupie fans like you, who seem to respect the "champs" who either AVOID or only fight people at a disadvantage.

He was thinking like your hero... :hi:

When you say "handicapped," you mean without his power-wraps right? ahahahahahahahaha!

No obviously I meant the eye, it probably shouldn't have been sanctioned.

But I don't know any p4p champ, or even a paper champ who requested to defend his own title at a catchweight. I've asked around, the closest we have is DLH vs Hopkins. It technically wasn't a defense, rather a unification. But more importantly everyone including DLH knew his belt at 160 was bogus anyway. You know any other cases, or was Cotto's request with no precedent?

Cotto/Marg 2 was a total money fight for Cotto's redemption as a plus. Marg wasnt ranked at 154. Nobody gave a **** about belts or catchweights, it was one of those rare occasions were the fans got a fight they wanted to see, purely based on the drama behind it. Marg was a labelled scumbag after the handwrap scandal and Miguel took advantage of it. Then people want to talk about a handicap, yet look up the stats for the fight and the amount of punches Miguel landed there. That was the only time Cotto ever demanded a catchweight and why not against that piece of **** we all know as margacheato.

Margarito had 2 eyes when the fight started and Cotto shut that **** up... It bees that way.

We can argue that Cotto was handicapped ever since he was assaulted with plaster wraps.

    Cotto>Margarito. The End.

    We got 2 options:

    1. Cotto is comfortable at 150
    2. Cotto is drained at 150

If it's 1, then weight is not the reason for Cotto to pass on the Pac rematch, not that I cared to see it too much. If it's 2, then his CW request is even worse: he was willing to drain himself just to get an edge over a unranked, medically unfit divisional challenger. That tells me he's got no respect for his own body, and should expect no better from others.

Pac and Marg are not the same, simple as that. they both bring different challenges and motives to the table. At first it was Pac who passed on the 150 catchweight even though he was ok with it for the marg fight, and after the Mayweather/Cotto fight it was Pac who passed on the 154 limit. Miguel's stance is that he was at a disadvantage at 145 and was not willing to bend to those demands ever again, hence the move up after that fight. He felt cheated against Pac and thats why it went down the way it did. Cotto is not a natural 154lbs, his frame is better suited for WW. Yet because of the catchweight for the pac fight he feels he's been wronged and that is the reason behind all this weight talk. Me personally, Miguel has never looked as weak as he did for the pac fight, it was reminiscent of his 140 days. Now his last outing was the worst performance he's ever had even at a comfortable weight, yet he took the bigger man's punches without being drastically hurt. Nothing is ever as black and white as people think but there is solid reasoning behind all of this.

Cotto didn't duck Pac so stop accusing him of ducking Pac. He hates money so he took the Trout fight instead of the Pac rematch. Would you fight for 10mills or 1mill if you hated money .

Nobody wanted to see this fight, at least no one with a lick of sense. The first fight was a total annihilation, and it was back when Cotto was younger / better then he is now.
