I think Dan gets a bit to much **** on here to be honest. He is kinda right about Andrade. Don't throw the kid in with contenders just yet, but it wouldn't hurt him to fight some guys a level or two up from who he has been fighting. It's all very well fighting 'bums' early in your career but if the level of competition isn't slowly increased then a fighter can stagnate a bit. They are used to blowing guys out or coasting to easy decision victories and they don't end up improving on their weaknesses as their opponents aren't good enough to test the young prospect. It's also good for a prospect to get banged about a bit and take a few knocks early in their career. It toughens them up mentally and physically for the harder battles that lay ahead for them.
I remember a time when he was all over Baby bull like he was the second coming of Christ, Dan Rafael lacks objectivity, he is no better than the average boxing fans. There are actually many fans on this board who would do a better job than him and a couple of Writers on ESB actually bring better angles to fight than he does, he is one lucky ******* to have that job at espn.
As for the Pac-Floyd situation that's a bit of a tough one. On one level journalists should be unbiased, but they are human and we all have our favourites. Also, as well as giving us the facts some journalists/columnists are encouraged to also give the audience their own personal thoughts and opinions. You don't have to agree with Dan's opinions but he isn't doing anything different to a lot of other sport journalists. Also, you will find a lot of fans are quite pro Pac and a bit down on Floyd because of their respective opponent choices so Dan isn't really saying anything that a lot of boxing fans have been saying for quite some time now.
