I agree and I work for the guy so of course Im a HUGE fan as well.

Over zealous fans can be found with ANY boxer.

To dislike, hate, or discredit the accomplishments of a fighter because of his fans is ridiculous and wrong IMO

Oh yeah, by clinching 97 times, going into a few panic attacks, and turning his back to his oppenent on occasion resulting in Sam Peter hitting him on the back of the head? Yeah he really looked tough in that fight let me tell you, he fought life and death with 25 yearold extremely green Sam Peter. His brother Vitali beat a more polished Sam Peter like he was nothing, it's no wonder why everyone thinks Vitali's the better of the two.

Wlad's personailty is way too dull to get the average boxing fan's attention, thats why his name is not that well known in america and rarely gets any coverage on ESPN. I much rather have a Haye type personality, someone who demands your attention and doesn't mind backing it up in the ring.

Surely. That doesn't mean it won't happen or continue to happen in the future.

Everyone has their favorites and of course, we're defensive of them. Point is when you're THAT defensive, you should understand that it comes with the territory. Some guys need to learn to disconnect a litte...the reason Wlad bash threads go on for days is because Wlad fans go the ends of the earth to try and defend him. Again, every fanbase does this...but understand that when you show that sort of attachment, people are gonna rip on it.

I never once said Wlad was a bad guy, it's his lack of toughness at the top ranks and boxing style I dont like. Wlad's personality is similar to what he does in the ring, which is him being boring.

To be fair though I don't think anyone watches Wlad to see an engaging persona, they do it because he's the most dominant champion in the division right now. Dominance is often boring...especially when you're THAT far ahead like Wlad is. Expecting some sort of personality dynamo is a tad unfair.

He just needs some decent opponents.. something the HW division is sorely lacking in these days. Not his fault, but it's a fact that he doesn't fight anyone on his level. Maybe someday, but not anytime soon IMO.

I think Emanuel Steward said it best, he throws punches from awkward angles, that sometimes meet their mark on the back of the head. Wlad is no angel himself, excessively clinching, laying his 250 pound body on fighters backs during clinches, posting with his left hand. Alot fighters have illegal moves in their arsenal, in every contact sport your going to have fouls, it's just part of the game.

Fair enough. Only once did I see him hit a man purposely with the rabbit punch, and that was against James Toney in their first fight. That was out of frustration, most of the time when he lands a punch on the back of the head, his fighter is either hurt or their trying to duck under Samuel punches.
