he lost to floyd&all of a sudden people are saying hes shot,he should retire&other bollocks.then youve got a feather fisted gimp like paulie mallignaggay saying hattons been ducking him!ducking a guy whos claim to fame is being spanked by cotto at msg&picking up hattons old belt off lovemore n'dont hes not exactly a world beater.ricky would clean up at 140.
It's boxing. This is how you set up fights. Now if Hatton DOES get beaten in his next fight, then people really will start thinking its over. Also note that the first defeat after a long undefeated run can often be the one that people will point out as "the beginning of the end". After that any other loss would be smaller in comparison to the won that ended the undefeated run. Remember it was the first and only loss that killed off Naseem Hamed's career. Some fighters simply don't have the same hunger anymore once the undefeated label is taken off them. On the other hand, others will absolutely want to avenge their defeat and this is when you have rematches. In my opinion if PBF (for example) ever loses it's going to be retirement, or a rematch followed by retirement. I can't see him wanting to continue after being defeated. As for Hatton, it would be interesting to see his next fight (after the Mayweather match you can be sure Hatton's next match will draw large audiences) to see how he's looking.
The way Hatton blows up in weight between fights its possible the end is near. Riddick Bowe was the same and he was shot at 28...Ricky is now 29 and has a face first punishing style.
