Why does everyone rate the fab 4 greater than Floyd

I actually thought his best chance would be against old Hagler. He might just pitter-patter-run to some sort of decision there, though I still would not favour him. The other guys run over him and Hearns especially would do something ugly to Floyd.

Yes, he did lost to a blown up lightweight in Duran. That is fact. However, here is the difference that Floyd's resume cannot account for:

    1. Duran is the best pressure fighter of all time.
    2. Duran is one of the Top 10 GOATS
    3. Ray Leonard was able to demoralise him in the rematch and win.

With regards to SRL-Hearns, 'split fights with Hearns'? Leonard won the first one when both were prime. The other, Leonard was past it anyway and was echelons lesser as a fighter at MW (yet still great). Hearns would outpoint any boxer in history. He is a huge welterweight, best ever at light middleweight, and is a KO puncher. SRL managed to beat the best pressure fighter, and managed to beat the best long, rangy fighter ever.

I agree, SRL fought Hagler when he noticed Hagler was past it, but SRL was past it, too. It was a fight of two faded Greats but they did not disappoint.

However, Mayweather never fought a high tier HOF let alone an ATG, let alone one of the GOATs, at or near their prime.

I can be objective. Runfeather would have a chance against Duran since we saw Duran got annoyed by dancers and runners.

floyd's only win worth considering is against a prime undefeated corrales...other than that, his other wins against top dogs are past it or on the way out, except hatton....

floyd has cherrypicked his way to the top after corrales....his resume alone pales in comparison to each of the fab 4....

There you have it.. Floyd doesn't beat a non green Canelo, a younger Oscar and Mosley, a non injured younger Pac, Gurerro with a healthy wife, Ortiz with a different ref, Marquez if he didn't cheat the scales by weighing 2 more pounds, Algeri's lumpy jab, Hatton at 140 with no ring posts...ect Floyd's whole career is just luck filled...lol

I'd like to also add that he only beat Manfredy because of a premature stoppage, Mosley because he wasn't allowed to roid, and Gatti because it wasn't at Turo's natural weight.

Floyd is a great defensive fighter. His offense is very good, but limited. He lacks power and is far too defensive to produce an offensive quality that guys like Hearns, Duran, Leonard and Hagler all had in abundance. Defensively Floyd is better than all 4 but overall Floyd is behind guys like Duran and Leonard.

    I don't know. Leonard's defense was exceptional.

I'm not looking through rose tinted glasses, I don't like Floyd but I think he was one of the greatest ever fighters, just not at WW.

The Fab Four all fought each other and they were all highly skilled.

Pea was a great fighter. I've never said anyone would bulldoze Floyd. But at WW, he'd have had big disadvantages against Tommy and Ray.

Hard to imagine Floyd having the power to ward off Duran's pressure and make him think twice.

Hard to imagine Hearns not peppering him with right hands with ease.

You're entitled to your opinion, but give me a logical breakdown of how you think he could have beaten Tommy at WW.

Yes, he's a defensive master. That's correct. But to beat Tommy you needed to have a great offense.

What advantages did Floyd have over Tommy at WW?

    Tommy was taller.

    He had a reach advantage.

    He was much more powerful.

How could Floyd have beaten him?

There's just no way that Floyd could have outboxed him for a decision. Ray couldn't do it, so Floyd couldn't have. It's just foolish to think otherwise.

Again, all your left with is the theory that Floyd may have been able to have taken him out like Ray did. But looking at Tommy's attributes along with Floyd's style, there'd be more chance of me winning the lottery this weekend.

I don't why you have such a hard time accepting that Floyd could have been beaten.

It's not hard to imagine when you remember that Duran lost to DeJesus, Benitez, and Kirkland.

In the last few years, Canelo hasnt been phased by anyone's power but Floyd's.

So you really think he can beat Montreal Duran? Wow.
