why does everyone say Mosley is shot?

Common flaw in shot fighters. I'm going to do a poll and see how many people think Mosley is shot or not.

He looked great in the second Vargas fight even though that was against a shot Vargas. He didn't look too bad in the second Wright fight though he was clearly losing. It is clear that 154 has been his worst weight throughout his career I can agree with you on that.

 

I don't think he's shot....but he's not the shane from the early 2000s. Mora confirmed that Shane that was dominated by Floyd a few months before wasn't the best version of shane by any stretch of the imagination....but he was a top WW for sure.

 

I think people got a bit too carried away with the Mosley/Margarito fight. Mosley has some awesome power, speed and tenacity, but he's definitely dropped a level or two, you cannot deny that.

 

Because he looked awful before the Margarito fight which completely revived his career and looked terrible against Mora.

That's probably why people say that.

The win over Margarito was HUGE for him.

 

Mosley gets hit with everything, dont see him looking great against a guy who thows the amout of punches manny does. If Manny can avoid the big right hand for 12 rounds he win a wide UD. I could actually see him stopping Mosley late potentially.

 

He's not shot, but he's very well past his prime for sure. His performance vs. Floyd was not his best and it had nothing to do with Floyd. You don't believe me just look at his other more recent performance vs. Mora. Mora stunk up the night and made it a very close fight I saw Mosley winning, but it ended up being a draw. This version of Mora was no where close to the rough and tumble one that gave Forrest a good fight, this was a sorry version of Mora and Mosley also looked gassed out. Mora at this point is no world beater and brought Mosley down to his level.

 

Pretty much bang on, I feel.

 

I think people were fooled into thinking that Mosley had more left in the tank than he did because of his performance against Margarito. But if you look at the last five years of his career, it's not very pretty.

He had a draw against Mora
Dominated by Mayweather
great performance against Margarito
lost to Cotto
good performance against a solid, but not elite Collazo
a string of unimpressive wins against certifiably shot, unranked fighters like Mayorga (in a tough fight) and Vargas.

So in five years, his wins have come against subpar competition...and Margarito.

Mosley hasn't been elite in years. The boxing world seriously overreacted in making him P4P #4 after he beat Margarito. SERIOUSLY overreacted.

Sorta like how they reacted to Hopkins beating up Pavlik.

Because he gasses after 3 rounds and looks horrible. He can barely get off anymore. Shane is one of my fav fighters of this era but he is shot. He should retire right now because if he fights pacquiao next their is a good chance he is getting KTFO.

 

It wasn't that he lost to Mayweather, it was HOW he lost to Mayweather. Mosley is done, deal with it.

 

Mosley of 2000 would be embarrassed of Mosley of 2010.

 

Saw his last 20 fights, including the last 2.

 

1. He lost to Mayweather. Everyone losses to Mayweather.

2. Mosley looked not so good against a good boxer (like usual).

Hes still a threat to Pac even though hes no longer in his prime. Prime to prime, that a fight!

losing to PBF is not whats classifying him as shot. Its the Mora performance. He did not look the greatest even if he was at a styles disadvantage. I expected more out of him that night.
