Why does everyone seem to think Margo has a real chance, really?

yeah, may not be the right term. but what i meant was, as sturdy as his chin was, he's still getting backed by cotto's punches for a while

 

Me either. He took many bombs but I don't remember him ever even looking particularly annoyed. And Cotto can punch. Hearns he is not but he is certainly heavy-handed.

 

There several reasons why Marg has a chance in winning.
1. Manny is not invincible and any fighter can be beat.
2. Each fighter has an advantage over the other. Which ever one exploits the other disadvantage they will be the winner.
3. Marg hunger, will and urge to prove a point can be a factor in this fight.
4. You said it yourself anything is possible.
5. He's a proffesional boxer who trained for this fight. He has all his limbs and he's not cripple, which gives him more of a chance then any of the reasons above.
No one thought Douglas was gonna KO Tyson, Very few thought Ali was gonna beat Foreman, Who thought Tarver was gonna KO Jones in the 2nd RD or Shane was gonna KO Margarito. What about Mayweather KO over Hatton, or his total dominance over Mosley? Or Glen Johnson KO over Jones, Manny making De la Hoyle quit on the stool or Ali making Liston quit on the stool. The point I'm trying to make is, in the fight game always expect the unexpecting.

IMHO because Margarito is slow as hell and he doesn't have defense. He's bigger yes but he doesn't use his size as an advantage but moreso as a big target. I see Manny landing first the majority of the fight and Margarito reacting after getting hit. Watch RJJ vs Telesco to get an idea. The post fight high is going to be the worst in years since idiots yet again will try to act like Manny did the impossible yet again . This fight is hype and nothing more. I would be way more surprised if Manny was fighting a legit 154 pounder not at a catchweight and not for a vacant title. This fight really cheats history . Youre a dickrider if you believe otherwise.

 

Because he's a foot taller and will weigh in 20 lbs heavier, how's that?

No its a flavor called truth. It'll be a good fight no doubt but Manny is too fast and skilled for EL Mollasses Margarito . And it's not like Manny doesn't have power on his shots that can't effect Margarito . It's funny that people have an agenda to downplay Manny to make the fight look better than what it is. The term is called dickriding I believe.:think

 

Personally, I am still shocked that this fight is even happening in the first place. Not only does Margarito not deserve a chance to fight Manny, but he also has no chance of beating him. This is a stylistic nightmare for Margo that I just can't see him winning. He simply doesn't have what it takes. The size advantage is not a big a deal as some are making it out to be. Methinks that some of you are just trying to get people to buy into the hype so that there will be a lot more in the pot when it's time to collect.

Again, this is my personal opinion.

 

Size ain't ****! Tonight this will be proven once again. Manny wins this fight, period. Marg has a slim chance but that's it.
