Hatton would not beat Paulie easily. Think about it fellas. This kid Paulie went toe-to-toe with the strongest of the 140 lb elites, Cotto. Regardless of Cotto being weight drained at 140, he was still twice the fighter Hatton was/is. Hatton's skills are extremely limited. He would simply try to use his rough house tactics. They may indeed work, but to say Paulie would fold easily is ridiculous considering the punishment he took from Cotto.

Paulie may actually have a chance if he can simply stick and move all night and keep Hatton at bay with a straight right down the middle all night. Unfortunately for Paulie, he doesnt have much pop. So who knows.

Hatton gets frustrated VEERYY easily. We can all at least agree on this. This could spell trouble for the Brit. Paulie does have a stunning jab. If Paulie uses that jab and superb lateral movement right, watch for Hatton to just look sloppy diving in and looking like garbage.

That being said, Paulie also has the habit of clowning in the ring when he starts to get the upper hand, so if he thinks hatton is getting sloppy, one of those lunging hooks could find their mark and flash ko Malignaggi. And I think that Malignaggi has one of the most underrated chins in the welters. He took some real thumpings in the Cotto and Ngoudjo fights.

I see it going slight decision Malignaggi (only slight because there will be some sloppy round that Hatton makes that the judges will give to him because he "didn't get made as bad a fool of this round")

I didn't know that one loss finished a guy ...

Hatton had to bring his best fight plan and fight a flawless fight to beat PBF ... his lack of experience and skill proved to be not enough against the p4p king.

Malignaggi is a skilled boxer, but his heart can only carry him so far ... he's going to have to have some pop - he needs some power to stop Hatton from coming.

I don't think that Hatton's chin is that bad and hasn't crumbled ... Floyd knocked him down for the first time in his career ...

Paulie has to give everything he's got to win this fight ... he can't just box alone. Boxing will do him well to gain points, but I don't see him stopping Hatton from coming forward and pressing the fight. Once the fight gets in close quarters - its hard for me to see Malignaggi getting Hatton off of him.

He's going to be looking for help from the ref ... but I doubt if the ref is going to be there.

Hatton is also very fast ... very quick feet ... and decent boxing ability. Enough so to be an elitist in the game and the universally recognized, undisputed Light Welterweight champion.

    Hatton by late-rounds stoppage.

I like Paulie but I think Hatton is just going to be too much ... and you can't just outbox this guy ... you have to discourage him and make him think about engaging you.

People underrated Paulie imo. This is a 50/50 fight the way I see it. STOP with the "Herman is the champ" comments, because any idiot that can halfway score a fight should have had it for Paulie. Not to mention Paulie had an off-night and didn't get his jab going until about the 6th for some unknown reason. I think Paulie could box his way to a close UD over Hatton. Hatton comes face-first as we all have seen and Paulie has a top-notch jab. He could double-jab or one-two Hatton then get out of the way in an eye blink. His lateral movement and quickness on his feet would be huge for this fight. The Paulie from the Herman fight loses and gets beaten up, but he was off for that fight imo and im not going to hold it against him yet. Paulie wins 115-113 imo and frustrates the hell out of Ricky in the second half of the fight

If you're a Buddy McGirt fighter...and you can't establish and/or use the jab...then I think that says all you need to know about your chances as a fighter.

Hatton would batter Paulie much like Cotto did...Hatton is very hard to beat at 140 and I don't think a soft fisted slickster like Paulie can do it. He doesn't have anything to make Hatton think twice about barging and grabbing.

People said that Mayweather would not have enough power to "get his respect" too. That is a cop-out imo. Guys can just simply be outboxed. The ref would have a lot to do with this fight too, but Paulie is every bit as quick as Hatton and I think he could fight him effectively with his great movement in the ring and win rounds with his jab. And to boot he has proved that he has a great chin. I will still maintain its a 50/50 fight

I don't think Paulie is nearly physical enough to hold off Hatton. Mayweather had to use every trick in the book to keep him honest, and I don't think Paulie can do that.

Depends on the weight they fight at.

    Junior Welter, Hatton KOs him.
Welter - close fight, going to the score cards, split decision either way

Hatton would and will dominate Malinaggi when the fight.

Paulie does not have the footspeed, defence or counterpunching ability to keep Hatton off him.

    Hatton TKO10

What do you reckon at Welter? Just dont think Hatton transfers his power when he moves up and to have to chase Malignaggi for twelve rounds I think would prove difficult for him.

Agree though, at 140 - Hatton would destroy him!

i am a huge hatton fan and i dont think it will be a easy fight, in fact i dont think there are any big easy fight for hatton thesedays, in spite of popular belief i think hatton has never had a easy fight at the top level of the game.
