are you serious? Duran fought the bet of his generation moving up from lightweight and fighting the likes of SRL, Hagler and Hearns, winning a MW crown at 38 against Barkley.

That of course dismissing his regard as arguably the greatest LW in history. OMG. are you like 10 or something....

Well every fighter is a cherry for Floyd to pick, none are on his level, the sooner his detractors realize that the better

Have you ever seen James Toney vs Iran Barkley? If so then you might realize Duran beating him is not as amazing as you think

You're basically saying that Foreman could have avoided Ali and you wouldn't have called that ducking. Frazier beat Ali, Foreman beat Frazier, so why should Foreman fight Ali? Styles make fights. Yes, I had to say that to you, moron.

Yes it is cherrypicking. Cherrypicking means picking opponents based on styles. Floyd saw two A-level fighters at the top of his division, one (Margarito) that he knew he could never beat and one (Mosley) that he knew he could beat. Floyd decided to stay at home for 2 years waiting for someone to beat Margarito, then when Mosley did it, Floyd beat Mosley and of course idiot fanboys five Floyd credit for beating both Mosley and Margarito.

How is Margarito a tough style when you claim Floyd feasts on slow, flat footed plodders? Is that not what Margarito is, a slow flat footed plodder?! Margarito loss to Pacquiao, Mosley, Williams, and Cotto, the hell he going to do against Floyd!!

You're right: Floyd feasts on slow (key word) flat-footed plodders.

Margarito is not slow. He runs after you, and he has ENDLESS STAMINA. A great technical defensive fighter will have nightmares against someone who has a steel jaw and just throws punches and stalks him for 12 rounds.

Floyd watched this fight between Margarito and Martinez, and decided he was gonna avoid this guy no matter what:

So I ask you: what would Floyd have done that Martinez wasn't able to do?

None of the greats of that era ducked Duran, know why? Cause all of them felt they could take him and guess what, most of them we're right

Come on man, is this a serious comment? Not amazing?

Duran was at his best at lightweight. Yet, at the age of 38, after 22 years as a pro and 92 bouts he took on, knocked down, and beat up an absolutely MASSIVE MW who was coming off a devastating KO of Tommy Hearns his last time out. Barkley then tragically lost vision in his left eye after the Nunn fight. The half blind version of Barkley that a prime 25 year old Toney (who was a huge man in his own right) faced was a mere shadow of the man Duran beat. What Toney did to that version of Barkley takes exactly zero away from Duran's achievement.

It takes nothing away from Floyd to acknowledge how remarkable this feat was from Duran.

well, there seems a great difference in cherrypicking and making lots of action during fight time compared with cherrypicking and then changing boxing to dancing with the stars during fight time. hehehe
