It will be a very good win, yes it will be downplayed by many haters and someone else will be mentioned within a week or two as a "better" opponent but still this would be a huge victory.

Stop cryn over floyd. Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee r the best and I do respect both Jet Li and Donnie Yen.
BY the way you communicate it is obvious you know nothing about honor. Floyd is not a true fighter and has no honor. If ur lookn to admire a real fighter watch Sugar Ray Robinson. He is a real fighter with heart and honor. Floyd will never be as great as him cause he ducked and ran from real fighters.

And not many of them were we sat there wondering "Wow, I really can't pick a winner here"

Cotto would have been just that, for many people. There would have been absolutely nothing to discredit that win, which is why it would have boosted Mayweather's legacy so much. For most it is such a pick'em fight right now, and that is why you get more credit for taking that risk on.

Unfortunately Mayweather has clearly shown he hasn't got the balls to risk that fight, and hence he's retired. There is no other way to look at it. We are crying out for it, Floyd retired. Jeez, do the math :patsch

This **** would be throwback because I'm not too sure Floyd would feel like putting on his track shoes the entire fight with someone like Cotto that can cut the ring off so well. If he doesn't put on his track shoes we got ourselves a BAD ASS ****ING FIGHT...Some phone booth **** with Cotto ripping beautiful hooks and Floyd catching punches with his shoulder and throwing uppercuts

what kind of ****** would one have to be to NOT want to see this?

Of course he doesn't. He's suffering from the same symptoms as his boyfriend. "Can't lose my 0 in a 50/50 fight" syndrome.

Mayweather fans kill me. It seems like they more content with the belief that Floyd is leaps and bounds above the best fighters in his division, rather than actually seeing him fight the best fighters and proving it in the ring. To each his own, I guess.

He got schooled as usual. This is the funny thing about him, he runs a mile then he'll come back tomorrow when the heat dies down after Boy Scouts and logon to moms laptop and say he "owned us"

    Fool.

Mayweather fans can atleast make a point without using some serious revisionist history. So let me state to you the facts..

    130. You can say he cleaned that out.

135-The only fighters who were champions one could say that Floyd didn't fight was Cassamayor and Stevie Johnston. Do you all really think either one of those guys would have beaten Floyd??

140- The champs at the time were Gatti, Tsyu and Harris.. Tzsyu was set to fight Hatton and lost(out wrestled), May fought the most marketable PPV name in Gatti and had Vivian Harris not embarrassed himself on the undercard of Floyd vs. Gatti they would have fought.

You all would have screamed bloody murder had Floyd fought that chump ass Maussa that Hatton ended up fighting (who beat Harris for those of you with short memories). Oh and Cotto had the insignificant WBO belt but he brought ZELCH to the table at the time, so Floyd moved up to make the bought that was anticipated anyways with Zab Judah.

147-Titlest Judah.. Judah loses to Baldomir and still fights Floyd. Now Baldomir holds the linear title and a the time Floyd was negotiating the Spinks after Spinks had just beat Karmazin for the junior title. Arum puts an offer o the table for him to fight Margarito for 8 million with OPTIONS where as Goosen countered with $8,000,001 and a portion of the PPV buys. Most importantly the linear welterweight championship.

So lemme get this right. Floyd should have fought Marg for 8 million and having to go back to a promoter who's contract he just bought out of for a pittance of a WBO belt or fight Baldomir who was the linear titlest and get more money.

Hm, the choice seems obvious. Next up thats when the DeLa Hoya fight was made and no one would turn that down.

So i'm still trying to figure out who Floyd ducked to get to the top seriously?? Even more that seriously had a shot of beating him. You all are sad I swear.

Why does Cotto have to be the one who Challenges PBF? If I was PBF I would be looking for the best guys to fight, after all he is the one who is always talking about his legacy.

A real champion (as far as most fans see it) is a guy who never backs down from a challenge and is willing to go out on a line and defend his belt/honor/pride/ no matter who the challenger is. This is why DLH is so damn famous, its not that he was the best. It is that the genral public noticed these attributes in him and were automatically attracted to him. Same as Gatti, its NOT solely on being undefeated, win or lose DLH will ALWAYS be great in the eyes of the general public.

Oh and about it being a business first, nobody starts boxing saying " gee I can make alot of money getting my face punched in for the next 20 years." No they don't, we all started fighting to prove to either ourselves or others that we ain't no pussies. Fighting is primortial, since the beginning of time men have fought men, animal against animal, all species do it. Fighting is fighting and money/business is excuses no matter how you dice it. Everybody whether a fighter or not watches/participates for one reason and one reason alone................ to see who the man is.

So the fans that made him rich can feel like PBF is a true champion, or find out if he is just a paper tiger.
