Why does Floyd likes to portray himself as a gladiator, a warrior or a gangster?

it sells...i mean the guy is behind Oscar, Tyson and Holyfield in Boxing Revenue, only those three.....i mean come on.....wouldnt you? its acting this is our society.....he gets paid extrememly well to run in the ring as some in here say or "act" like a gladiator or "gangsta" or warrior.....there are two sides to boxing......the actual fight and the PROMOTION....i'd say he has mastered BOTH.

No Floyd doesn't do it for the sake of showmanship, I believe the dude obviously feels the portrayal when he suits up all his costume, he's like a kid playing bully out there and easily get emotionally hurt when things go wrong around him.

No doubt ..I was just commenting on the way they portray them selves ..Anyone who knows boxing would never never compare the 2 ..Ones a journeyman and the other is elite ..But with out showmanship boxing would be boring ..

Ali modeled his gimmick after the "heel" wrestlers of his day. He was very, very good at it. Floyd tries to emulate the same thing, but he sucks at it. The biggest problem is that Floyd doesn't know he sucks at it. He comes across as phony, and he reminds me of a little kid pretending to be a "WWE Superstar."

I'd have a lot more respect for PBF if he just came out and said "Boxing is an atheletic art form. The object is to hit and not get hit," and then fought Cotto and Mosely.

What Floyd fails to realize that all of his history has been on front street for yrs now .In countless interviews with Jeff Mayweather and Sr it was stated over and over again Floyd grew up middle class and never worked a day in his life ..

So because his family may have grown up rough all of a sudden he grew up rough ..No one buys that fake gangsta crap ..The man's talent speak for him, he could never say another word ever again and no one would doubt him in the ring ..

By the waY I have more respect for pro wrestlers when it comes to showmanship they are forced to be original with Floyd hey people see it as a copy ..Though I dont mind it I see how he's more like Kanye West more than anything than a showan ..Maybe he should hire Ric Flair as a consultaant :lol:whoooa

Do ya think Floyd could get away with starting an interview by saying "Someone ask the girls in the back, what's causin' all this, and the girls said, Floyd Mayweather!"

Seems to lack a certain somethin':nono

At 130 who would you rank above him ...u can make a case for Elodore and Arguello and though I think any argument for Arguello bein the goat at 130 is valid I also think Floyd won in much easier fashion...Also if you dont recall I do...

FLOYD WAS AN UNDERDOG AGAINST CORRALES....CORRALES HAD BEEN AT 130 FOR A WHILE AND THE FIGHT WAS A 130LB FIGHT..U BRINGING UP FLOYD AND THE WEIGHT AGAINST JMM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH **** SO U CAN THROW THAT OUT..DIEGO WAS 33-0 AND NEVER BEEN TO THE FLOOR..HE WAS RANKED #5 IN THE WORLD AND MANY PEOPLE THOUGHT FLOYD WOULD ACTUALLY LOSE THAT FIGHT...
