To answer this question, anybody who has watched Mayweather's career would know he was stronger puncher at 130 and 135. Also had hand problems. Most of the time whne he went for the ko and got it, he would fracture of hurt his hands. So in order to not hurt his hands, he doesn't focus on throwing with full power. He allows his boxing skills to win him the fight.

I credit Floyd with a ko over Ortiz just like Dempsey over Sharkey.

VERY BEST POST ON THIS THREAD!!!
Floyd has a style that does not bring KO's much. How many fighter in all time has the superb skill Floyd does with above average ko%?
Guys like Matthysse and Wilder and many others like them, lack the skill to outbox everyone so they rely on their power more.
GGG and Kovalev are exceptions to this rule, they both have great power and some real skill with it.

LMFAO, you better lean to use Google. DLH was smaller than Pacquiao in that fight. We're not talking height.

He doesn't seem to have that much power at welter or junior middle, because he has probably gotten used to not sitting down on shots all the way to protect his hands.

You take risk when you are losing a fight, you don't take risk when you don't have to. This is not online poker.

He's Technician he likes things to be perfect before he takes a risk of loading up

He knows the dangers of a return counter shot could be fatal & ruin his immaculate record

He switched off / lost focus for a second in the mosley fight & took 3 massive hooks
which had him on wobbly legs

He is smart & knows not to take risks which younger / braver fighters take

Mayweather has good power & amazing stamina

he is just a cautious genius !!!!!!

Floyd couldn't even make the catch weight for the Marquez fight.

If he's at his best at 140, why did he insist on fighting Hatton at 147?
