    Agreed.

    150 is a lose-lose for Mayweather anyways.

Martinez can come in on the night as heavy as 170-175 pounds, that is an enormous amount of weight to be giving away for Floyd, who will come in around 153 pounds like against Ortiz. There has to be some fair compromise for the amount of weight Floyd will be giving away, to make it a fairer fight. You don't see Martinez wanting to fight a Light Heavyweight, who will about outweigh him by 20 pounds on fight night. Sergio is two weight divisions bigger than Floyd.

Mayweather was advised that middleweight king Sergio Martinez offered to come down to a catchweight of 150-pounds to fight him. After hearing this news, Floyd said that he would be interested in the potential match. If Sergio Martinez can make 150, we can make the fight, absolutely. There are no excuses. If he can make 150, lets make it happen. I'm a little bit different from the other guys. I think he has a very, very impressive style, Mayweather said. Martinez returns on March 17th at New York's Madison Square Garden, against tough middleweight contender Matthew Macklin.

Mayweather was just replying to what someone told him. He didin't call out Sergio or demand that the fight at 150.

question is - why is he calling out Sergio when he knows Sergio is signed to fight Macklin in March?

    I agree.

And Martinez is certainly not a big middleweight.

Regularly weighs 2-2.5 pounds under the 160 weight limit.

Id be incredibly suprised if he fights at 150 catchweight.
After all the **** he gives pac for using them and after he made 154 for oscar.

Even *******s can agree this does not suit the normal behaviour of floyd mayweather...

If he fights serg at 154 no 1 can put him down as its an extremly tough fight (id say moreso then pac) especially after he got ducked by bob arum for the pac fight

If he does the fight at 154 you MUST give him respect

Both Mayweather and Pacquiao tested the water at Light Middle. Mayweather looked slow/sluggish/lethargic. Pacquiao took some damage.

I don't see either making the trip back up to that division anytime soon.

Yup.. Against Barker he weighed less then 165 on fight night, but according to the haters he should be fighting light heavyweights.

agreed, he fought dlh at 154, he could weigh anyway he want to as long as martinez makes 154. But knowing martinez, he would take this fight even if it means losing a leg to make weight

When he fought Oscar he wasn't the star. Now he is, that's just the way it works.
