A few years ago in 2007, Mayweather would talk about retirement saying hes got nothing left to prove in the sport of boxing and he's bored. Now he's back and saying it doesn't stop with, Ortiz and Pacquiao and he will continue on, why is this? I'm Guessing his business ventures outside the ring aren't that successful and the best way to make money is by continuing fighting, he has to feed his lavish lifestyle and Gambling ways and where else can you make $30-40 million a night. (Btw I am a Floyd fan)
I think he just want people to know hè Will be more active. I doubt hè will fight 10 times, i think 4/5
I aint questioning it. If he wants to stay around and break marciano's record whilst fighting top class opposition that can only be a good thing.
Don't believe him. The guy wasted his prime with only two fights in the last four years, when there were all these great fights there for him. He's talked about his health and quality of life for his future being his number one priority, which probably explains his lack of risk taking all those years. Now we're supposed to believe he will fight ten more times past his mid thirties with his reflexes and physical abilities on the decline? Doubt it. I know Roy Jones did that when we never fought he would, Floyd is different though, he's shown with his retirements in his prime he doesn't give a **** about building on his legacy, and is more concerned with protecting it. My guess is 2-3 more fights, I just hope Pac is one of them, and he doesn't continue trying to pull the wool over our eyes with Golden boy milking their partnership to continue making fights their fighters
He was probably lying to be honest, but IMO he has more chance of fighting at a good level when he slows down due to his brilliant boxing brain. I expect 3 more fights. Also I don't think its got much to do with money. I think its got more to do with him finding his love for boxing again. In his last 2 outings I have seen a better fighter than ever. And I have a theory that his inactivity is due to his brittle hands.
I think Mayweather is just a really compulsive talker of utter ****. Remember him shouting in an interview with Brian Kenny that he'd never fight Mosley because Mosley was not a pay-per-view attraction? If you sifted through all of the major interviews he's ever given, you'd find a million lies, contradictions, and errors. He's just an attention-***** who lies himself blue in the face to conceal his cherrypicking mentality.
I think he was exaggerating about 10 fights. I think he'll have 5 more at most, including Ortiz. And realistically given his track record I only see him having 2 or 3 more fights including Ortiz. I do think he has rediscovered his love for boxing and his desire to be recognized as the best though, which is a good thing for fans.
Yep he was exaggerating, because in an interview he did after, they brought the 10 more fights up, and floyd himself said he was exaggerating. He laughed and said, maybe not 10 e.t.c But basically said he want's to stay more active.
