World Junior champion, European U17 champion, World Amateur silver medalist. Only suffered 1 loss and that was in the final of the world championships.

    Not bad either :D

    Well, now it's a 10-9 system.
But yes, Floyd has less time to find his feet which definitely works against him.
Also, effective aggression is rewarded considerably more now - which will work against him.
Remember that he's going up against welterweights, stylistic threats, too. Mayweather is literally featherfisted.

He wasn't featherfisted in the amateurs, or in the pros anywhere up through 140.

He racked up KO's at 130 against trash collectors. When he finally stepped up and fought the top guys he virtually always conceded that he was the weaker man and continued to fight off the back foot.

Corrales, Castillo, N'dou, Corley, Hatton, Cotto, Maidana, etc. He made a living off of backpedaling at the elite level.

There weren't all these global underage events when Mayweather was coming through.

The best thing Loma won was a World Silver medal.

Mayweather has won an olumpic bronze and had basically been robbed of fighting in a final.

    To me, that's about even

It doesn't constitute "Mayweathers style not working in the amateurs"

Umm, he dropped Corrales at will, before a mercy stoppage because he was destroying the guy.
He became the first guy to ever stop Hatton.

In what way are these proof of his lack of power?

Because he had to fight off the back foot against the top guys. And couldn't go toe to toe.

    corrales was drained

The way hatton was coming in all night and not even getting hurt until the 10th round shows you how feather fisted he is

Which makes it that much more impressive that PBF was 49-0 no power and dished out boxing lessons left and right.:deal

He fought (and stopped) top guys or at least ranked contenders and former champs in every weight he passed through before welter.

TKO2 Manfredy (out cold on his feet), RTD8 Chicanito Hernández, KO9 Juuko (clean, punishing KO), dropped Goyo Vargas with a body shot, RTD7 Gerena (dropped him twice), TKO0 Augustus (though it was a towel-wave), TKO7 N'Dou (pummelled & dropped), TKO8 Bruseles (dropped twice), RTD6 Gatti (dropped him in the first and had a couple of judges give him one additional 10-8 round w/o any further KDs, it was that savage a beating), RTD9 Chávez, dropped Corley twice, and TKO10 Corrales (dropping him 5x!!) - to do all of that while operating mostly on the backfoot is actually if anything more impressive (and evidence that he wasn't featherfisted below WW) so you've undermined your own argument by pointing that out. :conf

    Just patently untrue.
