In a nutshell, Imagine what Bernard was trying to emulate to Joe Calzaghe (pre fight)
Then multiply it by 100... & add the tension & atmosphere that was the 60's/70's U.S.
(On top of that, Someone getting their pride pissed on)

I can see why Fraizer is still gased about it.
For some people fooling around or showing out is all fun, But not everyone is for play.

He is still salty over it because he lost the 3rd fight and the popularity Ali will forever have. He was talked down on ever since there first fight and lost the last two.

Somehow, in a very sick way, he feels vindicated by Ali's condition. His answering machine really bothered me. Ali fought on for years after there fight and won most of them. Why does he feel he is the one who did that to him?

I actually don't care too much for Ali but lost some respect for Smokin Joe. He shouldn't be using Ali's health as a ego booster.

He beat him and some of the trash talking Ali started hurt him. It's like Jirov/Toney but you don't see Jirov talking down on Toney even after the fight. Some guys just take it personally, Ali talked more trash about Foreman than Frazier in my honest opinion and Foreman has nothing but praises for Ali whenever that question is brought up.

True.. He did go at Big George hard.
(George always had that sense of humor tho, And porb never took Ali serious)

Fraizer took everything to the heart. And he's still holding on to it.
Different personalities in the same sport, but both killers in the ring.

Ali talked too much crap on Frazier. If I were him I wouldn't like him either. Ali said that Frazier is too dumb to be the champ and that he can't talk that well. Look at frazier and Ali both today... that's poetic justice for the poet. Frazier had class Ali did not.

Because he helped Ali out with money when he was in exile, he helped him get his license back, and they were good friends.

Ali then stabbed in the back and said some damn right awful things, that turned the black race against Frazier and humilated him, that got death threats sent to him and his family and got his son Marvis beaten up at school.

Ali was a fine boxer, an enigma for the sport, and some at his charismatic best he was brilliant with some of the quotes, he was always arrogant and a bit disrespectful to his opponents, but not in the way he was to Frazier.

At the time of the Fight Of The Century, he turned into a complete ****ing arsehole.

If you saw the Thrilla in Manilla special, everything is true. Ali says he did it (called Frazier ugly and an uncle Tom)for the promotion of he fight. Frazier took it personal, and thought Ali stabbed him in the back. Frazier did do the things he said while Ali was suspended(giving him money, speaking out on behalf of Ali, and that he should be given a license to fight), and Ali did turn on him by calling him ugly, and a gorilla. What really pissed Frazier off he said was not being called ugly, but being called an uncle Tom.

Yeah also that Frazier was your sterotypical black at that time, had to graft his whole life, poor, treated badly, much much worse than Ali was, and Ali was calling him the white mans champion and Uncle Tom and that. But when Frazier says hes happy to see Ali like this and that he did it to him is waaay over the line, plus Ali has apologised many times about it, some things die hard I suppose, envy is a bad thing!!

Ali had no class? maybe you should read about all the good Ali did outside of boxing. Yes when he was promoting the fights he did take it too far with Joe especially as Joe helped him out, he should have stopped at calling him ugly, bringing gorilla toys and calling him an uncle tom is too far. But to say Ali deserved what he has now is ridiculous, and what kills frazier the most is that Ali was better than him, beat foreman who absolutely destroyed and embarassed joe, his daughter couldn't beat ali's daughter, and on top of that Ali can be recognised as the greatest of all time whilst Joe's still sitting in his same old gym making up voicemails over Ali, he needs to move on.
